Magic bean (sundry) is a type of magic bean which can be bought from the Farmers' Market for 400 beans. It can be placed in mushroom, hops, allotment, and evil turnip patches. When planted, the beans grow in about five seconds into a crop that the player can plant in the respective patch. The specific crop grown is a crop within the range of the highest crop at the player's current farming level to twenty levels below.
Experience[edit | edit source]
At higher farming levels, the best use of sundry magic beans is at the Canifis mushroom patch. Starting at level 74, the player is guaranteed to grow morchella mushrooms at this patch, which can be harvested nine times, giving 77.7 experience each. Adding the planting experience of 160, this gives a base experience of 859.3 Farming experience per cycle. This experience is unaffected by task set rewards or zygomite perks, but is affected by various experience boosting items: the farmer's outfit and its elite version, the master farmer outfit; items with the Wise perk; clan avatar boosts; decorated farming urns; urn enhancers; experience-enhancing auras; etc.
If the player has access to supreme greenfingers aura or its legendary version, and a level 99 farming, hops may be a better choice, depending on the current prices for morchella mushrooms and god wines. At level 99 farming, using a magic bean (sundry) on a hops patch has a 50% chance to spawn grapevines and a 50% chance to spawn reed. This also grants bigger experience per harvest.
Value[edit | edit source]
By growing morchella mushrooms at the Canifis patch, the value of sundry magic beans can be approximated. This value can be increased by completing the Morytania elite tasks and by putting farm totems on zygomite pens that contain an elder zygomite, in order to get the Uncapped Potential farm perk.
|Boosts||Value per Magic Bean||Value per Bean|
|Uncapped Potential (tier 1)||24,855.03||62.14|
|Uncapped Potential (tier 2)||25,551.9||63.88|
|Morytania elite tasks completed||46,458||116.15|

The above values do NOT include the following:
There's a chance to obtain unchecked gloomshroom zygomites (worth 271,493 coins) from the morchella mushroom patch. At a chance per harvest, and 9 harvests per magic bean, there is a chance of getting a zygomite per planting. Including this chance adds an average value of 45,136.32 coins per magic bean, or 112.84 coins per farm bean. Including the bonuses of both the Morytania elite tasks and the tier 2 zygomite farm totem perk, this brings the maximum average value harvest to 96,240.12 coins per magic bean, or 240.6 coins per farm bean.
In addition, players can drink Perfect plus potion or Perfect juju farming potion to have a chance at obtaining Harmony moss per harvest, and 9 harvests per magic bean. There is a chance of getting harmony moss per planting. Including this chance adds an average value of 1,144.01 coins per magic bean, or 2.86 coins per farm bean. Finally, players wearing Tirannwn quiver 3 or higher will have a 10% chance to get 2 harmony moss per harvest, granting slightly more gold per sundry magic bean. Having the yak perk active while doing these runs can also grant the player a 2.5% chance at a clue scroll. Players should wear the Farming cape to provide a chance to instantly harvest all remaining resources from a crop in noted form (includes chance at Zygomites/Harmony Moss). Also, wear Grace of the Elves skilling necklace and Luck of the Dwarves ring to get drops from the rare drop table (RDT).
