A legatus pendant is a Zarosian artefact that can be restored with level 47 Archaeology at an archaeologist's workbench.
Once the item is restored, it can be worn, carried in the player's inventory or added to the tool belt to allow the player to pass through the red legatus barrier in the prison block area of Kharid-et Dig Site. Through this barrier are the level 58 Archaeology carcerem debris excavation hotspots.
With a pontifex signet ring, and a legatus pendant, the player is able to walk through the maximum security barrier in the Vault, just north of the entrance from the prison block. Behind the maximum security barrier, players can talk to the strange device.

The amount in the parentheses is the amount obtained when donating to the museum donation bin, which will give only 40% of the amount one would get from a collector.
