Leechwyrms are a type of wyrm that lived in Vampyrium.[1][2] They lived in or near rivers[2] and burrowed in the ground and constructed large warrens, which were noted as a prominent feature in the Vampyrium landscape by Lowerniel Drakan.[3]Lord Malachi's grandfather once slew a giant leechwyrm whose husk was mounted on the wall above Malachi's throne.[4] There was at least one particularly dry winter that forced the leechwyrms to move from the rivers and into the tribelands where vampyres lived, causing conflict between the two races.[2]
