This guide has strategies for both the regular and exiled version of the Queen.

Overview[edit | edit source]

The normal Kalphite Queen is level 333, with 40,000 health with level 70 combat stats. She possesses 40 melee affinity along with 10 ranged and magic in her first form. In her second form, this is inverted, with 40 ranged and magic affinity, but 10 melee affinity.

The Exiled Kalphite Queen is considered a "hard" variant of the normal Queen, only in stats, with a combat level increase from 333 to 356, and 5 higher levels in combat stats - the affinity values and mechanics remain the same as usual. Due to this increased Defence level, accuracy is no longer maintained at 100% without applying a single defence debuff or affinity stack, even with the best equipment (including slayer bonuses), potions and prayers.

Their melee attack consists of a mandible bite, their ranged attack is lifting a ball of dirt and throwing it at the player, and their magic attack is charging up a ball of raw energy to launch. The ranged and magic attacks are unique in the fact that they will always hit regardless of the player's armour rating. This attack will not miss either for a second hit that would have resulted for less damage.

In addition to this, the first form of the Queen has Protect from Magic and Protect from Ranged active, using the old format for player protection prayers in that they provide her with complete immunity against those two combat styles. This means that melee must be used to defeat this first form.

Upon depletion of her first form's health, the Queen will shed her carapace and reveal her second form, a flying form. The ranged attack changes into launching barbs, although this is simply a visual change. This form has Protect from Melee active, meaning that she must be killed off with magic or ranged. Adrenaline may be gained during the phase transition.

The ranged and magic attacks can hit multiple players, but this is only if they are too close to each other.

Regular Queen[edit | edit source]

On the way to the Kalphite Queen, the player(s) may get poisoned from patrolling kalphite soldiers and guardians, though their poison is negligible and can be easily ignored. The kalphite guardians that are found in both the normal and instanced encounters are spawned too far to assist the Queen, and they will die off when she is killed.

The regular Queen has 40,000 life points for each form. In her first form, she is immune to magic and ranged attacks, so attack her with melee. Once her first form's health depletes to 0, she will shed into her second form. The second form is immune to melee attacks and must be attacked with ranged or magic.

For both forms, if she is near the cocoons on the sides they will burst and release one Kalphite worker; they will try to attack if possible. Although weak, she will spawn an immense amount of workers. All workers in the chamber will die off when the Queen is killed.

A boss portal will bring players to the area just before the guardians outside the entrance to her chambers.

Exiled Queen[edit | edit source]

The fight is essentially the same as the original queen, apart from the addition of two guardians and marauders. Heading to her chambers without an attuned boss portal means players must run through large groups of aggressive kalphites.

In the normal encounter, the two kalphite guardians and marauders will continually spawn, even after she is killed. They can stack heavy damage over time, but the guardians can be blocked with the Queen's large size to minimize damage.

In an instanced encounter, the four guardians will stop appearing after one or two spawns.

It's recommended to use an instance if planning to stay solely for obtaining kill count (including slayer tasks) to obtain more boss kills without sacrificing part of the task towards minions. If planning to power through the task while obtaining some boss kills, use the normal room.

In both encounters, she can summon normal kalphite workers (as exiled workers have a retreating mechanic) to assist her, although they aren't much of a threat.

A boss portal will bring players right outside the entrance to her chambers, where they will be protected from the aggressive kalphites outside, apart from a marauder depending on its position.

Solo method[edit | edit source]

The Kalphite Queen can be soloed with 70+ stats and gear. Players with near-maxed stats will require little to no food. Bring at least super potions (overload and extreme potions highly recommended) and pray Piety or Turmoil. Bring melee and one other combat style. Void armour is also very effective, as a maxed player using Overload potions; Turmoil, Anguish, or Torment; and Soul Split with tier 80+ weaponry can easily heal off her.

As always when attempting dangerous battles, bring a one-click teleport like a teletab.

Equipment[edit | edit source]

  • As previously stated, players who can outhit attacks can use Void Armour for both forms.
  • Warpriest armour is also a good hybrid alternative with more defence than Void armour.
  • Gemstone armour (level 80 all class) is a much cheaper option than Sliskean Armour

If As a First Resort has been completed, then using the spa pool at Oo'glog before going to the hive can be very useful as the spas boost both Prayer and life points and give unlimited amount of run energy for a time.

Invention perks[edit | edit source]

Using good perks on augmented items through Invention and Ancient invention will greatly increase the damage dealt and thus increase overall profit per hour.

This has a level requirement of Invention Invention 103, or Invention Invention 86+ with extreme invention potions. All prices factor in the number of tries required to get each perk at level 103.
