Strategy[edit | edit source]

The Kalphite Queen transforms into her second form

The Kalphite Queen uses three attacks:

  • Bite a basic melee attack.
  • Lightning a magic attack which has 100% accuracy and will always hit regardless of the player's armour rating.
  • Spines a ranged attack that drains prayer points by 10 and which has 100% accuracy and will always hit regardless of the player's armour rating.

The ranged and magic attacks can hit multiple players, if they are positioned close to each other.

The fight has two phases. In the first phase the queen uses the Protect from Magic and Protect from Missiles: the prayers provide her with complete immunity against Magic and Ranged attacks. During the first phase attack the queen with melee.

Upon depletion of her first form's health, the queen will shed her carapace and reveal her second, flying form. In this form she uses Protect from Melee for complete protection from melee attacks. Switch to ranged or mage once she changes form.

During the fight aggressive kalphite workers will be spawned if she is near the cocoons around the edges of the chamber. Once the queen is killed all workers in the chamber will die.

In a fight with the Exiled Kalphite Queen two exiled kalphite guardians and two exiled kalphite marauders will also continually spawn and attack the player if in a regular encounter. In an instanced encounter the additional monsters will stop respawning after one or two spawns.

If you are experiencing difficulty with the additional damage dealt by spawned kalphites then you can attempt to block them behind the queen by moving around her.
