The Javelin is a type of ranged weapon. With the lone exception of sagaies, javelins cannot be smithed or fletched, and can only be bought from the Ranging Guild and from the Pest Control activity archery shop. Certain monsters drop different types of javelins, however, the javelin drops are usually not very common. Most javelins are one-handed, however Vanquish and Sunspear are two-handed.

Javelins fare in combat similar to throwing axes, being thrown weapons with an average attack rate. However, javelins tend to have a better attack range than throwing axes. Although the attack range of most javelins is only 5 spaces, some javelins such as Morrigan's javelins have greater attack ranges that match crossbows at 7 spaces. Moreover, sagaies have an attack range of 9, which is the largest attack range of any one-handed weapon in the game.

Javelins get used up as ammunition when thrown and can fall drop on the ground to be picked up again, with the exception of Vanquish, Sunspear and superior Morrigan's javelin, which generate their own ammunition.

Javelins were once purely members content, but were made available to non-members on the release of the Evolution of Combat.
