Iron rocks are protruding rocks containing iron ore. They can be mined with level 10 Mining and are found in various mines.

Graphical updates[edit | edit source]

Iron rocks were updated along with other Mining rocks in April 2011. They were updated again with the release of Mining and Smithing rework in January 2019.

    • Reduced level requirement to mine iron to 10.

    • Mining rocks and veins have been renamed using the respective ore names.

    • Iron rocks have been graphically updated.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • A popular place to mine iron was the mining area near Al Kharid. This had three rocks in a triangular formation, which allowed for faster mining due to the close proximity of the respawns. When the Al Kharid resource dungeon was added, the rocks were rearranged.
  • Iron ore, like all other mined rocks, used to respawn at a rate indirectly proportional to the number of people in the rock's RuneScape world before the update on 13 March 2017.
