Imcando mattock detail.png

An imcando mattock is an augmentable mattock which requires level 80 Archaeology to use. However, it requires level 83 Archaeology (boostable) to create.

To create an imcando mattock, a player needs access to Thalmund's Forge, a dragon mattock, and the four imcando metal pieces which are received in the following order: slice of imcando metal, shard of imcando metal, lump of imcando metal, and chunk of imcando metal. These imcando metal fragments are found while excavating anywhere in the Warforge Dig Site, including the surface level material caches. The chance of receiving imcando fragments is unaffected by luck enhancers[1] but increases based on the player's Archaeology level. The imcando pieces will drop to the ground if the player's inventory is full.

See this section for steps required to gain access to Thalmund's Forge and this section for creation of the mattock.

Although an imcando mattock requires level 80 Archaeology to use, its precision and focus are equivalent to an elder rune mattock (which requires level 90 Archaeology to use).

An imcando mattock may be replaced with a crystal mattock at Lady Ithell with 4,000 harmonic dust.

An imcando mattock is also used in the creation of a Mattock of Time and Space, alongside a crystal mattock and an energised meteorite shard.

Creating an imcando mattock currently costs 31,329,537 coins (including the one-time cost of 1,000,000 and a Redberry pie for learning how to make it).

Update history[edit | edit source]

This information has been compiled as part of the update history project. Some updates may not be included - see here for how to help out!
  • patch 14 April 2020 (Update):
    • The chance of receiving an Imcando Mattock piece now increases in line with your Archaeology level.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The inventory model is slightly different from the equipped model, suggesting that a different design may have been considered during development.
  • Both the inventory model and equipped model are noticeably duller and of a slightly more purplish hue compared to the imcando metal and concept art of the mattock. If textures are turned off, the colours of the mattock when equipped are more similar to those of the concept art.
