Home Teleport was a Magic spell in the standard spellbook available to all players. It provided a teleport to Lumbridge or Burthorpe with no rune requirements, although it didn't give any Magic experience. When the spell was selected, players would be prompted to choose their destination. Players who had the Burthorpe tutorial guide system activated would always be taken to Burthorpe. It was released with the Troll Warzone update on 31 January 2012, replacing the Lumbridge Home Teleport spell. It was removed on 13 March 2012, being replaced by the Home Teleport that allows the player to access the Lodestone Network.

Casting the spell took about ten seconds, and could be interrupted by combat. Taking most actions, including walking, would also interrupt the spell. Furthermore, the spell could not be cast during combat, and thus could not be used to escape a fight. Like most methods of teleportation, it could not be used past level 20 Wilderness. When the player arrived, the camera would face North, identical to if they had clicked the compass.

If the player were prevented from teleporting, the spell could not be cast at all. Attempting to cast it was thus a safe way to find out whether one was prevented from teleporting, without actually committing to leaving the area, as the spell could be freely interrupted once started.
