Heated iron can be obtained from the furnace found in the Breaking the Storm event area, or by heating some cold iron in it.
It can be continuously forged into iron rivets at the nearby anvil, providing two sets of iron rivets per action, yielding roughly double the rate of Smithing experience. The iron runs out of heat after 20 actions, and becomes cold iron and only provides one set of rivets per action until it is reheated. Unlike normal smithing, it is equally effective until it completely runs out of heat.
One forging action takes 3.6 seconds and at 99 Smithing yields 108.8 base Smithing experience. During the event there is 10% boost to the experience, and for the first 125 daily skilling actions in the area the base experience is doubled.
Any remaining heated iron was removed after the beginning of 10 July 2019.
Update history[edit | edit source]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- It looks the same as a regular unfinished smithing item, but can be reheated in its special furnace even at full heat (for no benefit), while players would be stopped from doing so with an unfinished smithing item at a normal furnace.
