Hard Wilderness is an achievements subcategory of the Area Tasks category. Prior to the release of this subcategory the achievements were part of the former Wilderness subcategory within the Exploration category.

|1||Nerves of Stele||Yes||Activate and teleport from each of the Wilderness teleport obelisks.||

This might take a while due to the randomness of the obelisks. Alternatively, players could ask a friend who has done the hard set of achievements to set the teleport to each obelisk.
|2||Contract Killer||Yes||Complete one of Erskine's Wilderness slayer contracts.||

Start and complete a minimum requirement Slayer contract (and claim the reward) such as hellhounds or greater demons, as less risk is needed and it is very fast to complete.

The entrance is to the west of the Lava Maze. Near the Wilderness Entrance, the cape merchant Darren is located, who can be used as a nearby banking location if one does not want to risk taking their combat equipment through the entire Wilderness.
Another way to avoid risking equipment involves partially killing the King Black Dragon from the Edgeville teleport with any method the player chooses. When the KBD is down to about 1k health, the player should leave and re-enter the lair from the wilderness with no gear being risked. The KBD will still have the same amount of health left, so the player should be able to run up and commit suicide with the Wrath or Retribution prayers active. Upon death, the prayers will activate, killing the KBD and simultaneously completing the achievement.
|7||The Root of the Problem||Yes||Harvest a Limpwurt Root from the Farming Patch in the Western Ruins.||Harvest a limpwurt root from the Farming patch in the Western Ruins in the Wilderness.
Add a supercompost to the Farming patch to decrease the chances of the limpwurt plant from getting diseased and dying. Then add the limpwurt root seed to the patch. If a limpwurt plant was already planted prior to the Wilderness achievements update, the limpwurt plant can be simply be picked to complete the achievement. Alternatively, use a Supreme growth potion (leafy) to instantly grow and pick the plant.
|8||Cement his Torment||Yes||Defeat a Tormented wraith.||Defeat a tormented wraith which requires the use of Jennica's ring and a set of black equipment consisting of an item to fill the head, torso, legs, main hand, and off-hand equipment slots.
Head to the centre of the Dark Warriors' Fortress near 15 Wilderness. Once in the centre of the fortress near the hanging skeleton, use the "operate" function on Jennica's ring to enter the Spirit Realm.
