A player wearing a green hallowe'en mask

A Hallowe'en mask, also known as a Halloween mask or h'ween mask, is a holiday item that was introduced on 31 October 2002 as part of the 2002 Hallowe'en event. The Halloween mask comes in three colours: green, red, and blue. A Halloween mask covers the entire head of the wearer, similar to a full helmet.

Historically, the green hallowe'en mask has been the least expensive of the set. The red hallowe'en mask is the most expensive, having stayed stable while green and blue dropped after christmas 2020. blue remains the second most expensive, while green is still at the bottom.

After Free Trade was re-instated, the Grand Exchange prices of all wearable rares skyrocketed, because it was previously impossible to trade rares on the GE at their street value due to the ±5% limit. This does not reflect the actual price the masks were traded for.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Originally, Hallowe'en masks could be sold to General stores, but this is no longer possible due to the personalised shops update.
  • On 9 June 2010, the Court Cases update caused all hallowe'en masks to appear red, regardless of their actual colour. This issue was fixed with an update within around 2 hours.
  • In RuneScape Classic, they were just masks with strings on the back (to hold them to your face). In the switch to RuneScape 2 they were changed to cover your entire head and neck.
