FAQ • doc |
A granite body is a members-only piece of armour and the third piece of granite armour to be released. To wear a Granite body, the player must have at least level 55 Strength and level 55 Defence. It is the only item from the Barbarian Assault minigame that cannot be obtained with points; it costs 95,000 coins or can alternatively be bought from Stanley Limelight for 120 thaler.
The granite body's stats are higher than a rune platebody's. As it is a relatively cheap item with low requirements, it has become a popular piece of equipment for medium level members who want higher stats than rune armour but do not want to purchase dragon armour (namely dragon chainbody and dragon platebody) because of its price. It is also popular among players that do not wish to obtain a fighter torso or a Bandos chestplate.
Granite equipment cannot be carved from granite that can be mined from the quarry.
The Granite body does not interfere with Ava's accumulator and is the heaviest item worn on the chest in the game.
Usefulness[edit | edit source]
Even though it is the heaviest armour piece in the game, it provides great stats and value for those who cannot afford stronger alternatives like a dragon chainbody, dragon platebody, or a Bandos chestplate.
The granite body's stats excel over a rune platebody's in all aspects (except weight), thus making a granite body the favourable choice when choosing which one of these two to wear.
As for choosing between the granite body and the fighter torso, the granite body has 31 more armour, but lacks the +18 strength bonus.
It has to be noted though that the granite body weighs much more than the other armour pieces mentioned here (for instance, the granite body weighs more than 2 times the rune platebody does, 22 kg vs 9 kg), though this is rarely a problem as not many players need to run that often when training melee (or in other purposes where proper melee armour is needed). However, it really slows the player down if the player needs to run into remote location for slayer assignments, questing or doing Wilderness Warbands.
