A Golden chinchompa could be won on the Squeal of Fortune from 6 to 16 September 2013. It gave the player a number of coins for raising. It could be converted to 500 coins if won. After 16 September, the chinchompa disappeared. Afterwards, a cosmetic golden chinchompa pet was made available for free to members in Solomon's General Store.
A new in-game message appeared upon login: 1) Visit the Squeal of Fortune. 2) Win a golden chinchompa. 3) Lovingly raise it. 4) ???? 5) Profit.'

Food[edit | edit source]
There were three kinds of chinchompa food. Each individual chinchompa had a favourite type out of the following three:
Food could be won on the Squeal of Fortune in a food bag or obtained while skilling. Food could be only traded for other food types. Players must have waited until the chinchompa has reached a hunger percentage of 100% before they were able to feed the creature. A text message displayed: Your chinchompa is ready for feeding.
A thaumic chronometer made a golden chinchompa instantly hungry, and it remained that way until fed ten times (this carried over through growth stages). The hunger percentage grew 6.66% every two minutes and took 30 minutes to reach 100%.
The higher the player's total level, the more coins they received.

Baby chinchompas ate five of a single food type at a time, young chinchompas ate ten of a single food at once, and adult chinchompas ate 25 of one food each time.
As a baby chinchompa was fed the type of food it liked the most, a text message appeared saying: "Your chinchompa guzzles down 5 [type of food] happily - It must really like them!", and money was added to the player's money pouch
While the player could reduce their chinchompa's hunger by feeding it with their POH pet feeder, it did not grow.
A player could raise and explode a maximum of three chinchompas over the course of the event, although only one could be raised at a time. Once the player had exploded three chinchompas, no further chinchompas, chinchompa food, or chronometers appeared on the Squeal of Fortune. This meant any extra chinchompa food or chronometers that the player possessed after the third chinchompa explodes could no longer be used. Any remaining food and chronometers could be turned into coins on 16 September.
Rewards on Explosion[edit | edit source]
After a golden chinchompa finally exploded, the player would be rewarded with two to three items from the below table (based on total level), a large amount of coins (up to 4.5 million with a total level of 2,595), and a chinchompa gravestone that can be placed in the garden of their player owned house or in the grass outside.
One of the items in the table below was also received when a baby golden chinchompa grew into a young chinchompa and then again when it grew into an adult.

Update history[edit | edit source]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The login message is a reference to the South Park meme [1] widely used to satirise the business plans of the dot.com bubble companies which had no discernible monetisation phase.
- Golden chinchompas may not be fed to a baby troll. Attempting to do so prompts the dialogue: Golden chinchompas are far too rare to feed to a troll.
- There used to be a glitch while using a monkey greegree; if one was fed to a chinchompa, the money it gave was placed in the inventory and a message would appear, saying the money pouch was full, even if it wasn't.
- Despite the golden chinchompa being removed, the food is still in the game.
