The Garden of Kharid is a skilling area featuring Farming and Thieving activities (as well as boosters for Runecrafting), located on the northern border of the Kharidian Desert, between the Al Kharid mine and the Mage Training Arena. It was released on 7 November 2022.

The Crux Eqal druids, led by Polletix, award Crux Eqal favour for fully harvesting any herb patch across the game. The favour can be used to purchase various upgrades and consumable items from Sydekix's Shop of Balance. Among the purchasable rewards are Plant Power, an upgrade to Farming allowing players to plant multiple herb seeds in a single patch to produce a larger amount of herbs with diminishing total returns. Two new pickpocket targets are the source of elemental and catalytic anima stones, increasing the number of runes crafted per essence. A number of quality of life changes to composting, plant disease, pickpocketing, and monster drop tables accompany the release. The Civil War III miniquest in the Legacy of Zamorak storyline is related to the garden.

Getting there[edit | edit source]

Any of the following may be used to get to the Garden of Kharid.

Farming[edit | edit source]

The garden.

Harvesting herbs and vine herbs across the game will award Crux Eqal favour, which can be spent for unlocks and consumables in the Sydekix's Shop of Balance. The amount of favour granted on harvest will depend on the number of seeds planted in a patch and the type of seed planted. The players must have at least level 50 Farming to earn the favour.

Harvesting any herbs and vine herbs that are not a daily herb rewards the player with favour according to the following table.

Daily herb[edit | edit source]

This repeatable content has a soft reset.
The next period's content will become available only once a player has logged out and in.
Detail: If the player stays logged in, they will continue to have the same daily herb until they lobby or log out.

Every day a certain type of herb will award more favour. The players will be able to learn the daily herb by speaking to Polletix (either at the garden or remotely via the NPC Contact spell). It is random for every player. Therefore, players should check with Polletix by themselves to find out the daily herb.

Harvesting a daily herb will give 50 favour per seed, regardless of the level required to plant the seed. Harvesting the herbs while the herb is the daily one is required to obtain the bonus. The daily herb always gives most favour per seed.

Herb patch[edit | edit source]

There is a herb patch in the area. Nhitpyx acts as a tool leprechaun next to it, and a compost bin may be found nearby.

Plant Power[edit | edit source]

Plant Power is an upgrade to planting herbs, allowing the player to plant more seeds at once for a higher yield in the same amount of time, although at a diminished rate compared to the total amount of herbs the player would get by planting each seed independently. There are four tiers of the upgrade which can be unlocked in Polletix's Reward Shop, allowing the player to plant 2, 4, 7, and 10 seeds, respectively. Once unlocked, players can visit any weeded herb patch to configure a default number of seeds to use when planting.

As Crux Eqal favour is given per seed planted, Plant Power can greatly increase the rate at which favour can be gained.

The following table includes an example of herb lives based on the number of seeds planted and the compost type used.

Compost 1 seed 2 seeds 4 seeds 7 seeds 10 seeds
None 3 5 8 12 15
Compost 4 6 9 13 16
Supercompost 5 7 10 14 17
Ultracompost 6 8 11 15 18

Thieving[edit | edit source]

Three new pickpocket targets are found in the garden:

The loot of the first two includes elemental and catalytic anima stones, consumable items that increase the number of the respective runes created per essence by two while carried. In the future, these items will also become available from other sources.

Rewards[edit | edit source]

Harvesting from herb patches will award the player with Crux Eqal favour. Extra favour is awarded for harvesting the daily herb. The maximum Crux Eqal favour a player may have is 100,000.

Crux favour can be spent at Sydekix's reward shop located east of the herb patch.

A sunken box can be found in the water under a root, behind the herb patch in the garden. Casting Telekinetic Grab on the box gives the player a sodden note, starting the Mod Sponge trading sequence.

Development history[edit | edit source]

A new skilling location was first announced in the Development Update released on 20 September 2022.[1] In a livestream on 19 October it was announced that the update will remove herbs from boss drop tables and will reduce the amount of herbs dropped by Slayer creatures, and an explanation was given as to why these changes will be introduced. Full details of the update were revealed in a newspost published on 2 November.[2]
