Ways to play[edit | edit source]
The official RuneScape Client or a web browser which supports NPAPI plugins.
Plugins[edit | edit source]
If playing inside a web browser:
- Java Runtime Environment version 1.6, update 10
Note: It is generally advisable to use the current Sun Java release. Only the Java Runtime (JRE) component is required, though installing midsize or deluxe soundbanks may improve the sound quality.
It is possible to tweak the Java settings in some installations. Significant tweaks include:
- Java2d.ddscale: Can be selected to enable hardware scaling under the directdraw pipeline; Default is off, as some driver implementations may not scale with acceptable quality.
