I have been speaking with one of RuneHQ's site admins, Edd, about a possible Stealing Creation event against them. He is interested in such an event and will be speaking to their Events Team. This thread serves the purpose of gauging interest as well as providing information and details. Currently nothing has been set in stone, but I hope it will be successful.

Interest! - As long as the time is reasonable. Thanks for enacting my idea by the way. =D Matt (t) 01:05, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I'm sorry, but Stealing Creation against RuneHQ is a lost cause. --LiquidTalk 01:08, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

A common line is, "It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how you play". As long as we have fun, it shouldn't matter, but then again losing is never fun is it? ;) svco4bY.png3Gf5N2F.png 01:10, November 27, 2010 (UTC)
Losing can be fun, as long as the community sticks together and tries to have a great time. But stop being so pessimistic noobs! 222 talk 01:12, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Sounds like fun as long as everyone behaves and people turn up. Hunter cape (t).png Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask.png 02:52, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I'll come if we can recruit either Chuck Noris or Arin - [Pharos] iPhone Edit 03:13, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Jks btw, ofcourse ill come, sounds fun - [Pharos] iPhone Edit 03:16, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Be nice to have an informal game, outside of the league, or whatever it's called. As long as it's between 17:00 and 20:00 GMT, I'll play. Real Mad 12:05, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Conditional Support I know it'll sound anti-fansite, anti-wikian, and likely get shot down, but I'd support if we limit the amount of people who come. The last time we did a SC game with another fansite (can't remember who) they vastly outnumbered us and were asses (I think it was actually RHQ that time as well). And by "asses" I mean "idiot noobs that were rude, called us noobs, ruined our strategy by camping outside our spawn, and generally were bragging asshats who gloated that 'their fansite was better and ours sucked'". Seriously, they're much bigger and are probably much more powerful; we NEED to limit the amount of users (or take another measure to make it balanced), or we won't have a ghost of a chance at winning. Otherwise, I will not support this. 7kyt1iT.gif --WINE OF GOOD HEALTH (Actually Stinko) 18:22, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Well, I did say report any trolls to me and I'll get them kicked from RHQ's CC. There was no need for you to go in and start swearing.   Swizz Talk   Events!   20:58, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Strong Support - Do you want me to take Ice Barrage and spawn camp them all? :D RSN: Warthog Rhys Talk Completionist's cape... Coming soon. 18:25, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment While I have not participated in an event like this, I can see the frustration of other sites outnumbering us. A limit may be a good thing 16px‎AtlandyBeer.png 18:29, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose limited teams - At the end of the day, It's all about fun. They outnumber us because their events system is much more organised than ours and they have events much more often. When we do more events like this, we'll get more people to come. Also, what happens if we outnumber them? We kick people out of our CC? I really don't agree with this at all, where is the team spirit? It doesn't matter if we win or lose, It's the taking part that counts Lol as long as we have fun and play fair, it's all good. But really, everyone should get the chance to play.  Swizz Talk   Events!   20:58, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Edd gets very busy with IRL things so it's difficult for him to organise things. However, I am friends with the Events Team Manager (from Norfolk too!) and I can organise with him.   Swizz Talk   Events!   20:58, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

He said he would be speaking with the Events Team, I only spoke to Edd as the RuneHQ clan chat suggested it. 222 talk 22:44, November 27, 2010 (UTC)
Edd hadn't passed the message on it seems, but I had a thread made in the hidden forums at RHQ.   Swizz Talk   Events!   09:44, November 28, 2010 (UTC)
"(from Norfolk too!)" My condolences to both of you. Henneyj 01:22, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Proposal - Considering most people are against SC seeing as we got owned last time, and that RHQ are likely to camp at out spawn. Perhaps we could do P2P Clan Wars (I think) we've never done this before, all our wars with them have been F2P and even then we absolutely wrecked them, 3 wins in under 20 minutes I think it was. I'm up for SC but the general mood is "oh great we're going to get owned" whereas with Clan Wars we're pretty strong and have beaten them easily even though they outnumbered us.   Swizz Talk   Events!   09:44, November 28, 2010 (UTC)

Reply from RHQ - I've just heard from the ET from RHQ. They say they don't really want to be doing SC because of the problems we have outlined. So lets think up some event ideas?   Swizz Talk   Events!   13:09, November 28, 2010 (UTC)

Members Clan Wars - Per above, we haven't done it before and we have a lot better chance of getting somewhere than SC even with less people than them. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 14:49, November 28, 2010 (UTC)

Support Members Clan Wars - really hated having to do f2p clan wars last time (I was maging with staff of air and no other equipment), so this would be lovely. --Henneyj 01:22, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Strongly oppose P2P Clan Wars - We have plenty of F2P players on the wiki, and they've got just as much right to join in. If the members among us really want a P2P game, run a game on an F2P world too, so that our free players can fight for the wiki's glory as well. Real Mad 11:19, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Fail policy-quote. :P - [Pharos] 11:28, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, AEAE is meant to be about discussions, but I think that it's unfair to host members-only clan wars, while F2P can join in if we put it on an F2P world. Possible solution (which I did say above): Have 2 games, 1 for P2P, 1 for F2P. Real Mad 11:31, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
Wouldn't Stealing creation have been P2P anyway? Henneyj 20:48, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
Oooo... Good point. And next time maybe I should go to RuneHQ... --中亚人/中亞人 (Chinasian/Jeffwang16) 跟我谈话 21:54, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, but that's a members' activity anyway, so F2Pers can't do it at all, on the other hand, Clan Wars is an F2P activity, and I don't think it's fair to our free players to exclude them from something they could do. Real Mad 21:57, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
RuneHQ want to do an event we haven't done before. And they were leaning against a F2P minigame. Sorry.   Swizz Talk   Events!   19:27, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

Mems clan wars FTW Anyone trying to use AEAE in saying this neess to be F2p isn;t thinking it through hard enogh. If we make it F2p a lot will blow it off then it will be a fail event. I for one am sick of seeing mems being excluded from using the extra things they pay for. If you want to organize a second F2p fight go ahead. No one will stop you. But don't stop mems from having an event that will be fun for them. Thats damn spoiled and pathetic. Your not a mem, sorry, now get over it.--Degenret01 21:17, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Degen, I am a member, so I am not being spoiled or pathetic. I am not trying to stop members from using members' things, I'm just trying to include everyone. And I'd interpret the spirit of AEAE to apply everywhere, not specifically in discussions. And just because people may not come, doesn't mean the event can't go ahead. I see no reason to at least try, and if the turnout os particularly bad, either we can cancel it, or some kind members can help out. Whatever lets everyone join in, or try to join in. Real Mad 21:57, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
It is not like similar things have not been tried before. a significant percentage of mems will skip f2p events, and those are often our higher levelled (i.e.-more valuable in combat) players. Speaking from experience man. Its a hassle for mems as they have to run around and try to gather the best f2p gear, and remember to turn off curses, and then we find none of our tele items work. It isn't worth it.--Degenret01 22:09, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
AEAE, so let members be able to have fun with there items because we've been forcing them to use different items to participate in F2P activities. I hope that it will still be SC though. :3 svco4bY.png3Gf5N2F.png 22:01, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
RuneHQ say they do not want to do SC, sorry for whoever wanted to do it. :/   Swizz Talk   Events!   19:23, November 30, 2010 (UTC)
If members want to use members' items, then for the third time, host a CW match on 2 servers, one for F2P and one for P2P. And if no F2P players turn up, cancel the F2P game. All I'm saying is that we should at least try. Real Mad 20:54, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

Strong support members Clan Wars - I'm also sick and tired of being 1HKO'd at F2P events because Verac's is nothing more than decoration (albeit slightly revealing to the point where someone asked to touch me >_<). At any rate, I don't see a problem with AEAE. All AEAE says is that the status of users should not play any role in the weighting of their opinions. As long as people don't weigh my opinion more based solely on the fact that I'm a member (or a sysop or a rollback or a custodian or a whatever), then we're good to go. --LiquidTalk 23:15, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Support members Clan Wars - Finally, I get to use my member gear! Every one of these f2p events, I have to go buy f2p gear beforehand as I have almost none. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 19:37, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I wouldn't mind Soul wars or Castle wars. I find Clan wars boring as bat poop. Prefferably soul wars as even low levels can kill stuff or heal the stronger players to help, unlike in Clan wars. - [Pharos] iPhone Edit 21:43, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

I'm cool with with either but finding a completely empty place to do so... very tough. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 21:54, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose clan wars - I really dislike Clan Wars as I find it rather boring. That's why I suggested Stealing Creation as it has more complex and interesting gameplay which also allows for proper tactics as opposed to Clan Wars, which is basically "click on enemy and watch animated swords clash". 222 talk 05:18, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

That can be said for most of the game, but anyway. Both us and RHQ seem to want Clan Wars.   Swizz Talk   Events!   18:27, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

Suggest multiple events - The problems I'm seeing are either people don't like Clan Wars, or some nub thinks that mems-only Clan Wars is unfair to F2Pers. So, why not have a coupla different games running? For example, a game of Clan Wars, AND Soul Wars...just a thought. Real Mad 08:06, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think enough people are interested for splitting up to be feasible :/ - [Pharos] 08:10, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, we could have a one-day tournament with all three events running after each other. A problem I can think of is that people might lose interest. 222 talk 08:20, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
You're both missing the point. People want to spend 20 minutes, 1 hour max, playing a game. They don't want to waste their time, and valuable XP/hr. We want enjoyable, fairly short events, not another tournament. The favourite seems to be Clan Wars right now.   Swizz Talk   Events!   18:27, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - RuneHQ tend to plan events such as these months in advance, so I'm having to rush them as I think it'd be better to have this event before December or January ends. I've told them that currently Clan Wars is the favourite activity, but any thing could happen.   Swizz Talk   Events!   18:27, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

Closed - The community agrees that it wants a event with RuneHQ. I will allow the event planner (Swiz) to work out the logistics with RuneHQ. --LiquidTalk 16:02, December 19, 2010 (UTC)
