Several people have been talking in the clan chat about the slowness of the wiki. I've noticed that this happens around noon (CST) and might be caused by GEBot.
I've added a .1 second wait between wiki updates, which should help at least a little bit.
A suggestion I got was to change GEBot so he runs at a less peak time. What time should he run at?
- I just had major lagg for like 10 mins. Now it is faster. -- Spencer (Talk | Edits | Contribs) 18:13, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- I just added a poll to the main site for some times for the fest. The highest votes would usually be directly related to the highest peak, so some times less voted might be a good choice.
Curious: would it be possible to distribute updates throughout the day? By my calculations, the entire GEMW can be updated across 24 hours at a rate of approximately 1 edit per 40 seconds. Editing at this rate would likely never bog the wiki down. -Byte_Master 10:12, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Im still slowing down, at the beginning of the update just now, i couldn't even load the main page. Is there some way to slow down the updates even more? --19:19, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
