Comment - I'm hosting a fest? what is this i don't even... Chicken7 >talk 11:55, 2 August, 2010 (UTC)

I'll be discussing my leadership of the Asian/Oceanian fest with Steler. On another note, I have some suggestions about discussion. Could people actually suggest or support things instead of just going "i can come this time!!!!!11!!". Also, for ease of discussion, let's call the Amero-European fest the "Western Fest", and the Asian/Oceanian fest the "Eastern Fest", named after their respective hemispheres. I think what we're looking for now is suggestions, and how you think we can improve. Even if you don't know how we can make it better, feel free to tell us what didn't work well last time so we know it needs improvement. Cheers, Chicken7 >talk 12:10, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

There are no barriers stopping you, but keep in mind that you would have to be up late at night to attend. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 17:13, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I understand there's no real way to get all of us in one Wikifest together, but where's the community spirit in two fests D:   Swizz Talk   Events!   20:52, 2 August, 2010 (UTC)

I am not a huge fan of the idea either, but it's the only way to allow both sides to comfortably attend the fest. Regardless, you are free to show up to both the Eastern and Western fests. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 21:11, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

I agree, let's keep out "I can come111!!!" at least for a month or so. That being said, I'll set up subsection for ideas. ʞooɔ 21:39, 2 August, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Start at the party room? In the past we've met in places hard to get to or areas people don't know. The party room would be an excellent place to meet because I'm pretty much sure everyone knows about it. I'm sure a few people, me included, would be happy to put a few hundred thousand coins into the chest as our first event.   Swizz Talk   Events!   22:17, 2 August, 2010 (UTC)

I thought we would start off in the Falador Garden, and then move to other parts of the city for the three parts of the costume contest I am planning to have (the categories being Funniest, Halloween, and everything else). Comment/Idea - What if we had a resource gathering competition? Split up the wiki-visitors into 3-4 groups, post a list on the wiki (or just say it in clan chat?) and whoever brings back the proper amount of resources wins? Example: Bring back 10 yew logs, 15 cavefish, 45 copper ore, and a bead of every colour (all noted). Ideas? Clean cog.png The Wretched Automaton TalkClean cog.png 22:59, 2 August, 2010 (UTC)

Hm, how would we check to see that the people actually gathered the resources? Some players may happen to have the items banked.  Tien  23:45, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
Hm, good point. I'm not sure how'd we work around that. I'd assume honesty and integrity in players, but... Clean cog.png The Wretched Automaton TalkClean cog.png 23:47, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
Too complex to run. Consider your idea shot down (sorry Lol). Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 01:12, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for sounding so harsh. As much as I like the idea, it wont work from an administrative standpoint. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 19:51, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Idea - During Summer Wikifest '10, the person who was running it (Stelercus) was not the owner of the account Summerfest10. He couldn't mute the cc and there were long empty periods of silence while he waited for the owner (who was very slow about it) to mute it. This was a huge problem. Whoever is running the fest should be the owner of the CC for the fest. I am not vot, I am Melon! 00:00, 3 August, 2010 (UTC)

It was User:Haloolah123. Also that would require the leader to log off... leaving everyone confused on what to do. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 00:02, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
No it would not. The leader would be logged on Summerfest10 or Autumnfest10 or whatever the cc will be. Forgot to sign augh. I am not vot, I am Melon! 00:29, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
I try to find people over 18 to run the CC as they have the rare ability to clear their whole schedule for the day of the fest and have nobody to tell them what to do in real life. Therefore, they are less likely than me to leave during the fest. I cannot be 100% sure I will not have to leave the computer for something mid-fest and mess everything up. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 01:12, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Question - What date would this be on? Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 00:09, 3 August, 2010 (UTC)

We will get around to picking that. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 01:12, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Having two wikifests? That was an idea floating around my head, but I never thought we'd actually do this. Brilliant idea! Now I might actually be able to attend! 222 talk 06:27, 3 August, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I am against having two wikifests. The group we had last time was a decent size, any smaller and it just wouldn't be worth doing. Personally I don't mind waking a couple hours early on a Sunday or staying up just a little late, but I do understand that not everyone does as little as I do on Sundays. :P Two more suggestions, Bucket bombings instead of cabbages and can we split this into time, events, leader, location and misc topics? - [Pharos] 12:57, 3 August, 2010 (UTC)

Not too sure about the buckets. The reason we are having two wikifests is because it's impossible to find a single time that is good for everyone, so the eastern side of the world is having their own. The size will be a non-issue as having a separate fest for the east will have little effect on the attendance for the west (Aussies rarely show up for the Wikifest due to the time problem). The date should be early September, but we will get to that once we have ideas for events. You are free to suggest a location, but I recommend the Falador garden. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 13:20, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
What I mean is can we split the discussion into seperate sections once it starts getting a bit full? If the last YG thread was any indication, this will become a very large thread. Spliting it will make it easier to see if your idea has been posted or if it is being considered already. - [Pharos] 13:56, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
People tend to post in the bottom section regardless of its purpose. Splitting the discussion for every section is not required at the moment, but may be useful later. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 19:51, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Agree This is a good idea because I might be able to attend this time. A few other people were complaining about the times as well last wikifest. Rune hatchet.png The Gedge Tinderbox.png 19:19, 3 August, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Another trivial comment: people do realise that it is gonna be Spring down here. Just pointing it out. 222 talk 06:12, 4 August, 2010 (UTC)

We could call it September wikifest 2010 if it is September ect. If it supported of course. Hunter cape (t).png Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask.png 06:52, August 4, 2010 (UTC)
I call this recognising the people of the Eastern Hemisphere's time zone differences. If we change it to the September Wikifest, it'll be recognising the Southern Hemisphere's seasonal differences. However this is unlikely. 222 talk 07:10, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I have a few new ideas we can implement if we don't get enough suggestions. Still, I would like to see more comments. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 00:45, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
