We get some representatives from other clans in the Clan Chat sometimes, and they want us to war them. There is currently no consensus in the Clan Chat about whether we should fight these clans, so some clanmates tell the guests that we could go to war, and others tell the guests that we don't go to war with random clans.
Arguments so far include the following:
- We are mostly a PvM and skilling clan. We don't do wars except with other fan sites. There is no consensus to war with anyone; everyone is free to do as they like; so going at war with another clan would leave RSW with very little support in fights.
- We take a certain time to achieve consensus. By the time the Events Team reached a decision to war with another clan, it would be too late. (RCW clans are impulsive. Once they see that a clan might not war, they just shout "lol pussies" or in rare cases say "ok, thanks for answering" and move on to another clan.)
- We should try something new for once. If we never war, we'll never know whether we like it.

Comment - If there is enough interest amongst the clanmates as well as a rated clan wars leader willing to start a war, then it's fine to have an informal war, I think. The issue is that people are seldom interested enough to do so. --LiquidTalk 19:27, February 13, 2012 (UTC)
Comment - There needs to be enough people to do clan wars. If we're going to do CW, then we need to establish branches or something for the least confusion. Also, don't forget that there are F2P and P2P users. Whether or not they will be in the same group needs to be properly sorted out for something like this to work out. --19:24, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
Comment - I think it would work best if we let the events team handle it. If somebody invites us to war, we inform the events team, who will in turn set up dates/times with the other party. It can then be posted as an event for that week. It would not necessarily have to override our other event if there was something else planned. Just an idea.23:05, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
- Issues: Interest will probably have declined in the delay. 2. Of the six members of the ET, only Gareth and Yoda can actually act as rated clan wars leaders (id est rank admin+). --LiquidTalk 01:21, February 16, 2012 (UTC)
Support informal warring based on interest and available ranks - If we try and get the ET to sort something out, or even worse, a Yew Grove thread, interest will die and/or the other clan will get fed up with waiting and move on. 222 talk 06:58, February 21, 2012 (UTC)
Closed - If there is sufficient interest, an informal war can be quickly organised by ranks with sufficient privileges. This solution is better than no solution at all. 222 talk 01:20, March 3, 2012 (UTC)
