I think it would be useful if the stock table showed the return on investment for tradeable items and how long it takes for items to be fully restocked. For example, the price line for gold leaves at Bandit Duty Free could look like this:

Item Number
in stock
sold at
bought at
GE resale
RoI Restock time
Gold leaf.png Gold leaf 5 117,000 coins 39,000 134,571 87,855 15.02% 5 daily at midnight

Thoughts? Ixfd64 (talk) 22:27, 27 November 2018 (UTC)

Support-ish - I'm not really into RoI and the need of knowing that number. I can clearly see the shop sells it cheaper, and if I'm using that for construction, clearly that information is already there. This is merchanting information, and i'm not sure what kind of info we have on that on the Wiki as I don't do that in game. Although, I fully support the restock time part of the table. Support restock, oppose-ish RoI - I agree that both are useful but I think RoI is a bit too much to put on the tables, however if we had a calculator page showing all RoI values that could work? Superiosity the WikianQuick chat button.png : Hey 00:17, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

Support calculator - RuneMetrics icon.png Tyler JarretTalkLight animica.png 00:20, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

Support restock, oppose-ish RoI - As per Superiosity Betsan (talk) 08:01, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

Support restock on page and separate RoI calculator(s) - RoI is interesting info, but it feels like the kind of info that would go on a calculator. -Hourglass (2011 Hallowe'en event) detail.png I Am Me Talk III The Spark.png- 11:39, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

Comment - What is "GE resale value"? cqm talk 12:39, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

It's the profit from buying all the items and reselling it on the Grand Exchange. The formula used is: stock * (GE Price - store price). Ixfd64 (talk) 16:27, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

Support Restock, RoI separate - The main purpose of an item/store page on the wiki is only to show related facts about the item. I agree that restocking is part of that, but RoI is, and still should be, separate from the item. Making a money making guide page with RoI information for each item at each shop might be the best option for this. Support restock - But can we please change the wording? Given how the maximum stock is already mentioned, adding it into the restock part is superfluous. Maybe "Reset restock" fer shops where the items are restocked at midnight UTC? (Far as I can tell, all shops which restock at daily reset restock to full stock.) Also, how would the table handle items which restock slowly, like feather packs? Just list the total time required for full restock (60 hours in the feather packs case)? As fer RoI, that looks superfluous for the table's needs Ciphrius Kane (talk) 18:00, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

Comment - I think ROI is misleading; not everything can be sold at GE price. Things that do should probably left to money making guides. Restock info seems more useful; however is there anything that does not just restock at midnight? Seems redundant to include if everything goes by that rule. A lot of stores restock items over time, I don't think those usually have their stock refilled at midnight. And even if they do, knowing how fast they refill their stock for different items could be useful. -Hourglass (2011 Hallowe'en event) detail.png I Am Me Talk III The Spark.png- 09:53, 29 November 2018 (UTC)

Support restock - I don't think RoI is a useful metric, and doesn't say much for the "common" player. Restock on the other hand can be varying, and having it on the price line would be useful. I do agree with Ciph's points though. Also, the data should be centralised somewhere, but where? The item page? The shop page? Correct me if I'm wrong, but gold leaf doesn't restock on reset at the Prifddinas sawmill or the Keldagrim stonemason last time I checked, while feather packs are always 60 hours for a full restock even though the other items at the same shops don't follow that same timer. Ideally the data should be only entered once and handled globally by SMW, but the question is where. Closed - there is consensus to add restock information but not ROI information. It may be possible to present ROI through a calculator instead. Magic logs detail.pngIsobelJTalk page 19:17, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
