I was extremely disappointed that I recieved an unjust mute for "trolling" D-ark-Ang-el. He was being just as rousing and disruptive to the Clan Chat as I was, if not more. A friend of mine, sbijsoda, was also kicked unjustly. Two reasons why it is unjust:

1 - D-ark-Ang-el was being just as disruptive if not more, and did not receive a kick, and

2 - I was not warned even once about being kicked, now while I may have deserved it the rules of the Clan Chat clearly state I should be warned.

Rule #5 as proof D-ark should have been kicked.

"All users are to be treated fairly and equally. As every editor is equal, so shall every Clan Chat member be equal. Just because one user has the ability to kick, does not make him or her an exception to the rules. He or she is expected to follow every rule, as is every other member of the Clan Chat."

Rule #4 as proof I should have been warned.

"Keep your conversations mature and remain cool-headed. It is understood that everybody has different political, religious, moral, social, etc. views. Discussing events or beliefs like this is okay, but is preferred to take place in private chat. Discussing politics in the Clan Chat is acceptable, with a few conditions. If other users ask you to please calm down or stop the discussion because it is getting out of hand, kindly do so. It is very easy for these kinds of discussions to quickly evolve into heated arguments. Should this happen, users will be given 1 warning to calm down. Should they continue, please refer to Rule 2. In short, please respect the wishes of others in the Clan Chat when discussing controversial topics."

Rule #2 as more proof of a needed warning.

"No Flaming. This is pretty much self-explanatory. There is absolutely no need to flame anyone. Calling people Noobs is also to be considered as “light” flaming. Anyone who personally attacks another user is to be warned once, and then kicked. This includes discussions of users on the wiki. There are often times problems between users. Should you have something negative to say to or about someone, please take it out of the CC."

In the "Handling of Rule-Breakers" section, this is the first step, which was not accurately followed.

"One or more warnings will be given, after which the rule breaker may be kicked, depending on the case."

The rules I have used in this post can be retrieved from this article.

Discussion

Comment - First thing - Picture proof. We'll go from there. HaloTalk 02:24, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Oh I knew I meant to add something else. You should have been warned, but I'll need pictures of chatbox of what happened to say anything further. HaloTalk 02:25, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - It has been decided in the past that warnings are not required for a kick. DWZSNQBucket detail.pngrwojy 02:26, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Then why have the rules not been changed... xScoobsx Talk Contribs 02:30, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
And how are we supposed to know that, just a secret type of thing? Cronos is a regular user of the CC, I could see a random spammer getting auto kicked but not a regular chatter. xScoobsx Talk Contribs 02:30, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose the Unjust Kick - I was there and Dark should have been kicked as much as soda or cronos. There are multiples of others that were there and watched it. xScoobsx Talk Contribs 02:30, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Bleh. I am so tired of every single person who gets kicked coming to the forums to moan about it. These people are always pushing the line and just because they don't think they crossed it, they cry foul. It seems like every time a rank kicks anyone, it turns into some big hairy mess. Look, if you don't want to get kicked, then don't push the line. Don't even get near it. Just keep your tone level and your temper down. And what is this? If he didn't get kicked, than I shouldn't have got kicked either? You're even admit you should have been kicked. So what's there to discuss? You want Dark to be kicked the next time he comes in as punishment? That's not how we do things. What happened happened, you got kicked because you got out of line. Whether or not Dark got kicked should be irrelevant to you, unless you're after petty revenge. In fact, I move this thread be closed immediately. kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 02:33, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

I will not stand for this attitude. These sorts of problems happen in this clan chat ALL THE TIME. I'd have figured along with you that this is just a case of random whining or complaining over kicks, but with the rate these threads show up and with the rate at which people complain about the chat I am forced to wonder if this is not a problem long term. The clan chat is always referred to by a few specific members who love to hate on anyone that has a complaint as a branch of wiki, but not necessarily something to be paid as much attention as wiki itself. They are wrong. This is a wiki about Runescape, and the clan chat is the ONLY established community gathering point within the game that is the subject of the wiki! The clan chat solely represents wiki within the game. I have a few screenshots that I will be uploading and attaching in a further response which might be quite interesting to look at, but for the moment I will save my edit to make sure it's clear there is opposition to the thread being closed, at this time. (Forgot signature.) I am not vot, I am Melon! 02:41, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
On what grounds do you oppose? Because it may have happened before? If so, start your own thread. This thread is about whether or not he was kicked unfairly, and he admitted he deserved it. Coming here to say another user should have been kicked too is not the kind of thing we accept. As such, closure will still occur, without evidence to an unfair kick. MWSOYDBucket detail.pngrwojy 02:44, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
Oh, come off it. Be reasonable. In clan chat ranks just go on and on about "OH NO NOT ANOTHER KICK COMPLAINT LOL" and come here and start acting all elitist and superior and try telling me to get up and make my own thread. We all know that there's no AEAE here, there's no democracy here, and if I made my own thread with these shots it'd be closed quicker than this one will. Anyway. Here are some examples of the attitude that the clan chat is apparently insignifigant; one two And we have examples of some ranks who are completely abrasive in personality, taking absolutely no care for how wiki looks when they act like this in CC. three So while you guys are just letting things like that go on, I can't make friendly jokes with Raging Bull without getting a kick. in an example such as the following; four Yes I am expecting this to get completely ignored or brushed off as irrelevant, but seeing as how it seems there's no screenshot of the conversation this thread complains about I might as well make a point while I'm here. Ranks are simply enjoying their power a little too much at the moment, and frankly, it's ridiculous. Get this clan chat operating properly, ASAP! I am not vot, I am Melon! 02:59, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

I did admit that I deserved it, so why don't you try to read things before you flame me. Secondly, I am trying to show that the mods are unjust, and clearly closing this thread is just covering it up. I have been kicked before also, and this is the only time I have complained, and now that I think on it, I never get warned. But this is too much. Cabbage.pngCrono BladesDragon pickaxe.png 02:36, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Cannot figure out how to write a comment so I will put this here. Hello, this is Sbijsoda. While I guess I may have deserved the kick, I feel as though what I was doing was not hurting anyone. A mod could have simply told me to stop, even one of the people in the cc could have told me to stop and I would have. Dark had muted me during the conversation and then had unignored me because he wanted to "Hear what he has to say." And then lulz ensued and we had fun. Like I said, maybe I might have deserved the kick, but I did not hear a single complaint during this time period. (Scoobs copy and pasted from above for the IP.)

Pending Closure So it wasn't an unjust kick? You are whining because you think someone else should have been kicked too?. I'm going to close this in 30 mins unless there is evidence brought up that your kick was unfair, not that it may have been unfair dark wasn't also kicked. WRRNENBucket detail.pngrwojy 02:39, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

I think the real issue is kicking procedures, rather than this particular kick (though I was there, and thought nothing from anyone was kick-worthy). The conversation went on for quite a while, and then without any comments whatsoever from any ranks, two players were kicked (notably two who were on the same "side" of the conversation). I asked several times about the kick, and none of the ranks would even say who did the kicking, much less why. Then the conversation about the propriety of the kick was stifled by another rank. Maybe it's just me, but star chambers don't seem like a good way to moderate a CC. Ranks should indicate if behavior is inappropriate before kicking if the behavior not outrageously and flagrantly inappropriate (and it was not so in this case). They should also be able to be held to account for actions done qua rank. And legitimate discourse shouldn't be stifled by wagon-circling fellow ranks. (wszx) 02:55, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
Stop - I don't think this should be closed. Let people debate, more information may come to light. 222 talk 02:49, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Let's not play this twist my words around BS. I said I may have deserved if IF I got a warning. So please stop manipulating my words in the best way possible to cover up the corruption that lies within the mods you have here. Cabbage.pngCrono BladesDragon pickaxe.png 02:44, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

A warning is not mandatory. It is up to the person there to decide if to warn and kick, or just kick. Same on the wiki, it is up to me if I want to block someone, or give them a warning first. BLZFFBucket detail.pngrwojy 02:47, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

(Sbijsoda) I have no evidence such as screenshots of the chat because, I honestly didn't believe I would need them, and I also forgot that RS doesn't have a chat log system. However, I would like to say this: My kick was more just than Chronos. Chronos had in fact, nearly done nothing at all to Dark. He wrote only maybe 2 sentences, maybe max that could have even been remotely considered hurtful. Most of the doing was mine, I feel as though Chronos' kick is unjust in the sense that he really broke no rule. He is not saying that someone should be kicked as well, but that in the just circumstances Dark was just of a cuplrit as he and I were. You dont walk in to the clan chat saying "Hey guys, so this hot chick in my class was sitting next to me in class. And she asked me for a homework question, what should I have done?" and expect a decent answer. We actually gave him legitimate answers, I remember one user suggesting that it just was for homework, nothing more, but he drove the discussion a bit more, and then I did, and then he did, and then I did. All in all I feel as though while Cronos and I may have been held a little accountable, Dark should have been as well.

Concerned - Humans are emotional, it's a fact. Everyone should be given one warning, then kicked. It might be accidental, whatever, but everyone deserves to be warned and correct their wrongs. If someone has been giving preference they should lose their kicking privileges. I'm not labelling this corruption, but it's an issue that shouldn't be ignored. We are all equal, no one should be kicked without warning and another ignored. Also, I was not there, I'm just saying what I feel is correct. I support you Crono. 222 talk 02:47, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - (edit conflict with all beyond Psycho Robot)Why does everything become a Yew Grove discussion these days? My description of what happened:

  1. I mentioned something about a girl asking me a question about homework
  2. As a random topic starter, I asked what someone would reply to given something she said
  3. Sbijsoda and 1377Cabbages began to troll me because I "[was] bragging about talking to a girl" and "get all hot and bothered because a girl asks [me] a question".
  4. This continued, and despite numerous sexual jokes that would have easily warranted a warning, it took roughly 5-10 minutes for a rank to finally kick. No warning was given.
  5. Discussion stopped for a short time, and then somebody asked who kicked Soda and Cabbages.
  6. Harlequin981 and xScoobsx started calling the ranks corrupt for not kicking me.
  7. I asked what I did, and was told that I was also "being rude". When I stated how offended and hurt I was by the comments made, Scoobs told me that I "just wanted the mods to kick them.."

I am sick and tired of this. It was fairly clear that I was being trolled here, and if I wasn't the nicest person in reply, I think that's understandable. I'm a regular user and I approve this message.  TLUL Talk - Contribs 02:49, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Is this a seperate incident to what was described first above? Because what you're describing is quite serious. 222 talk 02:54, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Are you KIDDING me? You were CLEARLY NOT hurt by these comments or you would NOT have "unignored" me and soda. If you were offended, why the hell would you want to subject yourself to more of the "trolling" and "sexual jokes" Cabbage.pngCrono BladesDragon pickaxe.png 02:56, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Honestly, all this CC drama is getting ridiculous. This wiki has only the best ranked in the clan chat, and we all trust their judgment as a result of that. It comes down to this; if you were misbehaving and got kicked, deal with it. Don't do it again. Stop blaming everyone else. These things have gone beyond reason. ajr 02:51, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Fine, you want to close it? GO FOR IT. I'll make a new Yew Grove thread, and it will be about everyone thinking how unjust moderators in this Clan Chat are. Youc an choose two things. Keep this as something small, or I start an entire Yew Grove war over who thinks what. I will not stand for you blowing things off, and disregarding my complaints. Yous ay there is a lot of complaints about kicking, well that right there shows that at least some of the kicks received are unjust. No seriously, STOP taking MY words, and turning them into something that YOU Can blow off, it's ridiculous, and nobody wants to see it(excluding the unjust moderators/administrators that probably agree with every word Robot said). Cabbage.pngCrono BladesDragon pickaxe.png 02:52, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Closed This is over. Nothing will change, it's a measly 1 hour kick. You weren't permaignored for it, so stop complaining. Also, go ahead if you want, I won't close that one. OJTCBucket detail.pngrwojy 02:53, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
