I see lots of edits by people who change {{DropsLine}} on monster pages, like changing rare to very rare(mostly by anons) and then also put enters between the thing, for example:

{{DropsLine|Name=Bukkit|Quantity=1337|Rarity=EPIC RARE Z0MG}}

to

{{DropsLine
|Name = Bukkit
|Quantity = 1337
|Rarity = EPIC RARE Z0MG
}}

Now i want to ask you guys: What should be the official method of the template? in 1 line, or in multiple rows?

What i think is that it should be in 1 row, because it is taking up less space, and every drop has its own row, so it is also clearer.

1 line - Agree 1 line is more nice. --Farming cape (t).png Ikin Talk 13:49, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

3 line - A lot simpler, easier for newer users to use.   Swizz Talk   Events!   14:00, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

I wish we were not discussing this - It's not that important. Never the less, one line should be used, as it would take up an insane amount of space otherwise. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 14:10, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

Well, it could be used as a forum to be referring to when people change it. Maybe if these things happen too often still, there should be a redirect like F:DROPS so referring will be easier. This is because there is nothing to refer to when people change it. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 14:16, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

1 line - But whatever we say doesn't matter, people will change it to multiple lines, and others will change it back anyway. svco4bY.png3Gf5N2F.png 14:14, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

I don't care either way - One line is more concise, but three line is consistent with our current standards for most templates with multiple identified parameters in the mainspace. For example, infoboxes, quest details, item statistics, etc are all listed with each parameter in an individual line. However, I suppose an exception may be made in this case for the sake of conciseness. But, I don't care either way. --LiquidTalk 14:17, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

exceptions should be made for some cases. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 14:35, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

1 Line - Just makes more sense but I don't see this as a very big deal... insaneular 14:41, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

1 Line - I'm pretty sure 3 line only happens because of RTE. HaloTalk 17:10, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

1 Line - Per Stelernub. bad_fetustalk 19:28, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

Irrelevant - Both work perfectly as far as template functions go. As long as the template isn't broken then how its used doesn't matter in the slightest. I speculate that infoboxes use multiple lines for clarity - if it was all one line the wrapping would make it very unclear where parameters start and end; for a templates with a small nuber of parameters such as this one it doesn't really matter. Regarding IPs changing it: that's caused by the RTE, I would doubt any IP purposely changes it. So yeah, I would say don't edit a page just to change it, and frankly its barely worth the bother of changing it even if you edit the page anyway. I saw an editor only change the formatting, from 1 line to 3 lines, and changing nothing else. Also the summary was something like "Better format" or something. It was clear the edit was just made for changing the template format, so they do. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 23:03, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

1 line - I'm not sure this needs a yg discussion but 1 line was the original use and it is better because it takes up less space. Hunter cape (t).png Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask.png 02:04, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

1 line - I'm not quite sure if this should be on the Yew Grove. One line is in my opinion easier to edit, especially for monsters that have 20-30 drops. Matt (t) 03:51, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

1 line - While three lines can be easier to read, this template does not have enough parameters to warrant expanding it to take up a massive amount of space. 222 talk 05:21, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

1 line - Though I'm sure this is mostly due to RTE. Farming cape (t).png Lil cloud 9 Talk 12:06, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

3 lines - per Swizz. Real Nub 20:42, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

1 line - It really would be a pain to look at it if it were three, and it would be a bigger pain to change it all to 3 lines or make a bot for it. Quest point cape.pngTalk Newbie856 edit count Nomad guideMusic icon.png 20:54, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

Is there seriously a Yew Grove thread for this? - Suppa chuppa Talk 18:40, November 4, 2010 (UTC)

Unless I've been dreaming for the past few days, then yes. 222 talk 05:29, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

Request for closure: Both versions will be used throughout the wiki whether we like it or not (due to RTE mainly I think), so there doesn't seem to be a need to enforce any particular number of lines, especially since they do the same job. LordDarkPhantom 14:00, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

I'm going to continue changing any drop tables I see back to one line, if that's not a problem. 222 talk 22:35, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

Closed - Template:DropsLine should be entered as one line. Most of the edits that change it to three lines are caused by the RTE. Not really worth a yew grove discussion, add additional documentation if you think more people need to know.--Aburnett(Talk) 13:51, November 6, 2010 (UTC)
