Forum:Switching to the new parser
We are currently making preparations for the next wiki software upgrade. While we expect this to have little or no effect on most wikis, it may cause some pages on this wiki to render poorly. To help reduce or eliminate these issues, please see [[wikia:Forum:Switching to the new parser|the Central Forums]] for more details.
- I have been working on getting these pages fixed, but I am waiting for the update of the list of pages with problems, and you replied on the Central Wiki Forums that you put in a request already. - TehKittyCatTalk Wikian-Book 01:08, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Great news, we are now on the new parser, I checked all of the pages that had problems and fixed them. I then put in a request for it to be turned on and it appears to be turned on now. Please report any problems you may notice here or to me. The main changes are the fact that exchange pages no longer have an edit section(which never worked anyway). Many pages that include templates which include sections will edit the template instead, for example documentation on templates now edits the documentation instead of the template. Signatures that are not properly closed will now bleed on pages, I have fixed ones that have caused problems, but people change signatures, new people create signatures, someone may have made a signature but never used it, or they use "raw" signatures which can not be changed by someone else. - TehKittyCatTalk Wikian-Book 17:35, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
- Talking of exchange pages, have you seen the wanted pages list today? I can't see that anything else has changed (template wise), so I was wondering if the new parser was at fault Hurston (T # C) 13:38, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
The way i see this #ifexist issue is you can either use it or you can use Special:Wantedpages but not both on the same wiki, rather not so great imo. ~
