So, recently, I've said some things in the clan chat that activated the chat filter. People have been jumping on me saying stuff like "omg if u dnt stop il report u stop cursin!". I want everyone to know that it is not reportable if the censor does its job, and it shouldn't be against CC rules to activate the censor with "dirty language". I think we need to make it clearer in the CC rules whether saying swears that are blocked ingame are allowed or not. Support if you think there should be a rule prohibiting people from activating the filter with major swears (you know what I mean), or oppose if you think you should be allowed to swear as long as you are not circumventing the censor.

Oppose both options -

Can we stop adding lame rules and just tell people to use common sense and don't act like idiots?

Theres no real point in attempting to cover every possible possibility, jagex doesn't ban for censored words, so surely "follow the runescape rules" part of the CC rules covers this. Karis Talk to me 22:12, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

That doesn't seem to work...I don't wanna tell the whole story... 22:12, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Reply to Instant I'm sitting in cc right now, I know the story. It works perfectly, we should all know already that anything censored is unreportable, theres no point in adding a rule for every possible thing that could happen. Karis Talk to me 22:15, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
No, it was last night. 22:16, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

PS:It took me a long time to reply!

Oppose and support... I oppose people getting on your case for saying: "**** i just died" but saying like "your a ******* idiot Example" should not be allowed. So its fine if you swear as long as it is not a personal attack. --File:Red phat chathead.png‎|30px|My hair is ftw ^.^ Noah Talk to meh here <-You should really talk with me..... 22:31, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Ugh.... What? - Jagex's rules plainly state that anything censored is not reportable. And our CC rules state just as plainly that any Jagex rules apply. So, this is already in place. Reference anyone thinking otherwise to the CC rules page. Now that's a throwing weapon!Doucher4000******r4000I'll eat you! 23:07, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Remember when we did that yesterday and it didn't work? The person kept insisting that it said otherwise in the rules. 23:13, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Reply So we're making a rule purely for the sake of one individual ? If the majority of CC know the rules, do we need to have another to purely make a minority happy ? Karis Talk to me 23:14, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Comment - then it's their problem. They can report all they want. If they say it too much, it's spam, and then you give a warning, and then a kick. We already got our rules, we don't need a rule to enforce existing ones. Now that's a throwing weapon!Doucher4000******r4000I'll eat you! 02:21, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Comment - D4k is right here, if it is too much (my threshold is about the 2nd time of repeating themselves), then it is spam. I want to see the ranked ppl here take a leadership role and (1) Not engage in this behaviour and (2) Gently (at first) dissuade others from doing so. If in fact the ranks are given to those who we want to guide (not stifle) the CC conversation, we need them to be the ones who can say "Okay, you've had your fun, now focus on something else." Oppose-ish - We should just refrain from using words that are censored. If the moment really calls for it, then it's fine (as long as you don't spam it), but in any other case we should keep it to ourselves. I mean, if you feel the urge to say the "f" word, you can just say it out loud in real life instead of typing it in-game.  Tien  12:34, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Kinda oppose - The odd few stars, if not directed at anybody, should be tolerated, so long as its not spammed. If its aimed at somebody else (and is fairly obvious what it is), then its a warning (or two), then a kick if user persisits. This doesn't deserve its own rule, just a clarification in rule 1 and 2 of the CC, really. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 18:23, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Important Comment - Well this hardly needs deciding. If it is directed at someone then they will get kicked, if not then no bother. Simple. If uncensored swearing is allowed on here, censored swearing is fine as long as not at someone, in which case it will be an immediate kick.Joe Click Here for Awesomeness18:52, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Oppose random stars, support against user - I feel that a few odd stars here and there are fine, but if it ever escalates to "**** you *User*", then I suppose a kick can happen, or a warning is good enough. ~MuzTalk 20:01, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Comment The stars are only used for swearing or spamming.....-- Defence Waterkunai1 Talk # fluffy bunniesArmadyl symbol.png 21:27, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Oppose both options - Jediadam worded it pretty nicley:

Can we stop adding lame rules and just tell people to use common sense and don't act like idiots?

Honestly, some people just act like 5 year olds in the CC. If it's a personal attack, inapropriate discussion, spam, ect. warn the person. If it happens again, warn them one more time. If it happens again, kick them. Plain and simple. --— Enigma 06:01, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
