I've noticed quite a bit many subpages for combat strategies regarding various monsters however, to my knowledge no template exists currently to say it has a strategy guide so the strategy could just end up back on the page itself ruining the point of the subpage. I have made a rough draft of such a template, bare in mind while it does red link now it should not in the future (just didn't want to bother making another page just for a sandbox). The hard part, of course is where to deem the template necessary. Per common sense the actual strategy subpage should be too big to contain on the page itself on top of which it the information should be unique to the strategy guide; take a look at the [[Fire giant/Strategies|strategy for fire giants]], this in my opinion isn't worth the article since it just lists what equipment to have everything else (like drops and locations) are in the main article, now look at the [[Yak/Strategies|one for yaks]], ironically even though you'd think fire giants would have the superior guide it does not, the yak page lists stuff like getting the best EXP from them and such which gives its use as a guide more meaning. Discussion

Comment While it's arguably enough to get by on its own the template is not the main reason I choose to make a yew grove topic, I, instead, would like to see some kind of rough consensus on the topic of how we add strategy guides to the wiki. Comment - Basically I'd just say do it if you think it needs to be done. No one is going to beat you up either way, and it's ridiculous to need consensus for something that isn't going to affect many pages/people. What most things come down to is whether it will make the wiki better or not. If it will, go ahead and do it. If it won't, obviously don't. (Other than things like large policy changes where it explicitly states they need consensus). If anyone gets mad for somebody doing that, direct them to me. HaloTalk 04:19, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

I feel sorry for anyone directed at you. 222 talk 06:14, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

I want a policy that says stop linking to policies that everyone knows. HaloTalk 04:49, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
What did you say? I couldn't hear you. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 05:00, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
How about a Wikipedia essay that doesn't necessarily apply here? Besides the maker of this thread may be new and doesn't know that policy.svco4bY.png3Gf5N2F.png 14:23, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
Jim's actually been around longer than me, he's just not quite as active as I usually am. HaloTalk 20:45, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
Evil, the only reason I said that is because you said a very short, non-personal, overused cliche version of what I said without an explanation whatsoever. HaloTalk 20:44, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
