Looking through all of the different shop pages, I've noticed that these pages aren't as unified in style or the information presented as item pages. For example, compare Frincos's Fabulous Herb Store to Jatix's Herblore Shop and Thessalia's Fine Clothes to Fine Fashions. I propose that a unified template should be created for this task.

What does this have to do with Alchemy? Well, I was looking for relationships between shop price and and shop buyback price, and discovered that there was a clear relationship with alch prices. The ratio between the base shop price, High Alch Price and Low Alch price appears to be 5:3:2 for just about every item I can think of. I discovered a few items with incorrect alch values using this rule. I think this tidbit should be intergrated into the infobox for items somehow.

Also, I've noticed a few other relationships. For General Stores (probably most stores even), The diifference between stock price and 0 stock price is a 30% increase (x1.3) in price, applied linearly. Stock prices do not decrease below the base price like they did before personalized shops. Buyback price starts at low alchemy price and decrements to half that once stock reaches +10 more than the base stock. Old Smithy 16:22, March 31, 2011 (UTC)

Discussion

Comment - I agree, they definitely need an overhaul to be more consistent. Images are lacking as well. Regarding the alchemy prices - those are all on the item pages themselves so I don't think it would be helpful to put it on the shop page too (having the buyback prices would be okay, regardless that it's the low alch of the item though (imo)). sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 18:32, March 31, 2011 (UTC)

Comment - I have some old python code that works almost exact for calculating prices, I have put it here. I won't say it works perfectly, it was just a guessing match that I never cleaned up, but other than being off a few gp in certain cases it works great, I just never found the right combination of floor and ceilings. However, it is good for figuring cost/profit of batches, except where Jagex hard-sets the price (such as stores with Battlestaves). It could be used for validation/calculation for alch and store prices. - TehKittyCatTalk Wikian-Book 01:26, April 1, 2011 (UTC)

Comment - I found some the existing templates {{StoreTableHead}} and {{StoreLine}} that are already in use in a number of pages (though nowhere near all of them), so I guess it'd be more appropriate to work with those. I don't see why these can't be added to the Shop template when creating a new page. Old Smithy 22:53, April 5, 2011 (UTC)

Support idea - Now let's make a prototype. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 13:26, April 10, 2011 (UTC)

Closed - Someone can modify and spruce up the existing templates. Suppa chuppa Talk 02:47, April 15, 2011 (UTC)
