Okay, so the new betas are coming in two to three weeks and I feel we should be 'prepared' for them. Now, someone's definitely going to bring up the abolished Beta namespace, so I might as well mention that. I don't think it's necessary to re-instate it at this point. I doubt more than 5 articles would be appropriate for a non-mainspace, since we aren't really getting many new things. Okay, customisable interfaces, but unlike the EoC that doesn't require lots of work.

Now, as for images, we have something different. The testing of increased draw distance etc. is actually an alpha, which means people who can access it can simply enable HTML5 on the main servers. Should we allow HTML5 images (with awesome features like octupled draw distance and realistic water) to be uploaded over current versions of images, das heisst RuneScape 2? Should we make a template that asks to retake the image in HTML5?

Discuss any other points you see as relevant, may the force be with you and all hail Brassica Prime!

Wait till summer - Wait till summer to replace the current images, as RS3 will be released then. I really hated betaspace, and just merging a ton of files takes a lot of time, even for a robot. Comment - Not sure what we should do about images, but I vehemently oppose uploading them separately and merging them onto the current versions when html5 becomes live. Nothing was more annoying than that during the EoC beta. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 00:01, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

Comment - HTML5 images should be basically the same as the current images. Given the whole tedium of merging a couple thousand files, if the subject is unchanged other than the graphical quality then they should be allowed to have the new image, although we should not actively pursue this until RS3 is fully live. When RS3 is live, by all means tag it with a inferior quality template, but for the time being if the image is available in HTML5 then it is preferred, but not to the point of rejecting all none HTML5 graphics.

Interfaces should probably be uploaded separately, and as graphical updates tends to create a new file every time some part of the interface is significantly altered (such as a new skill being released), they should probably be located on a new page. Not quite sure how to handle them if they replace the current system beyond recognition rather than just add to it. cqm 00:18, 30 Mar 2013 (UTC) (UTC)

Comment - If you're talking about images, I'm down to trans like 5k images... just saying. I already told Spine that me, him, sword frog, basically every image contributer is going HARD AS A MOFO to get the images updated. I'll be afking Castle Wars for my trim while I trans images Spine and sword frog send to me. As per the images, why don't we just have the images all ready and when the time comes (when HTML5 goes live), all we have to do is upload the already completed images? ;o Just a suggestion./bren/tc 02:02, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

Comment - Personally, I feel that all current files should be left alone as both Java and HTML5 will run side-by-side. As well, there is no need to update images when it's only a beta and not an actual stable release outside of those stress testing it. Of course, the only images that would be necessary are draw distance, interface changes, and maybe a better comparison image between Java and HTML5. It's rather annoying to have HTML5 Bestiary images replace live models when parts of those beasts are pixelated or have visible lines. Ryan PM 02:03, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

Support allowing HTML5 images - But I oppose making a template asking that the image be retaken in HTML5 as it feels unnecessary given Java will still run alongside HTML5. Temujin 11:32, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

Comment - So the alpha beta's out today, and from what I understand there is an NDA (non disclosure agreement) in place which prohibits the public sharing of any information from the beta. At least 1 person has been banned for breaching the NDA. So until the NDA expires we should not accept content from the beta What I've done Ciphrius Kane Talk 15:34, April 17, 2013 (UTC)

Close - Because the beta is due to change and it is difficult to anticipate the updates that the beta will receive, and that it is a beta, images that use the live games graphics are to stay that way, are not to be updated, until HTML5 goes live.
