RuneScape Idle Adventures is currently in beta on Steam. As noted by Jagex, its lore is shared with the lore found on RuneScape, so I would assume we should take note of everything that happens in the game. However, what should we do:

  1. Create a new wiki and treat it as a separate game, but add all lore-bits (EG: The Needle) here. I have done this [[w:c:rs-idle-adventures|here]]. However, would it be better to make a language-wiki instead? (i.e idle-adventures.runescape.wikia)
  2. Make a new wiki and treat it as a separate game, and add next-to nothing here. Pretty much what we do for 2007scape.
  3. Don't make a new wiki and add everything about Idle Adventures on this wiki.

Discussion

Support 1, oppose 3, sorta neutral 2 - Neutral with 2 because I'm not sure how much of the game really interferes with the lore on RuneScape. While playing it, it seems to just be a story following some guy with RuneScape locations/characters. I oppose 3 because it really does act like a completely separate game. It's an incremental game. Sorta Support 1, oppose 2, definitely support 3 - my reasoning is that unlike OSRS, which has plot points and lore and items and monsters and all sorts of stuff that RS3 does not have, RSIA actually takes place in the RS3 universe. So maybe for the relevant articles, we could make a section about the character/item appearing in RSIA; ergo, Sir Amik Varze would work (which is misspelled in Idle Adventures, but that's neither here nor there), but someone like Zanik would not have it mentioned simply because she doesn't appear in it. Another thing to remember is that we use FunOrb (AoG) and RS novel content on the wiki; why should a game that, while it plays much differently than RS3, still takes place in the same time (probably Sixth Age, since Divination is a thing in RSIA) be left out? Finally, the game is very small and fairly easy to play and do everything (barring glitches that happen), and as far as I know it isn't on its own site (mainly on Steam, but that's Steam), which we can't say for Chronicle since that has its own site.

I would highly oppose not mentioning anything relevant at all on the pages, but that's just me. To clarify, it's not just about having RS3's lore, it's about the fact that most everything in RSIA is in RS3, and right now it's a fairly small game, so we could handle it.7kyt1iT.gif --WINE OF GOOD HEALTH (Actually Stinko) 14:39, July 16, 2016 (UTC)

For point 3, I mean literally everything. I.E, information about how much anima mundi is needed to level up a skill or something like that. The most I would add on this wiki (assuming point 3 did not get through) is detail about the anima mundi and how it is used to level up skills, etc, on the RuneScape Idle Adventures article. I understand your concerns about lore and that would all fit in with point 1. Well, that's kinda what I meant, but for items and locations too. 7kyt1iT.gif --WINE OF GOOD HEALTH (Actually Stinko) 16:48, July 16, 2016 (UTC)
I know I'm not known for my editing ability, but I went ahead and created a mock-up of an article and what info it would have on it pertaining to RSIA, as well a list of articles that would receive this treatment. Do note that if we did put this information into articles, I am opposed placing anima costs from IA used to level up the skills, mainly because depending on what you do it can vary greatly, from helping the citizens work alongside you in Crafting, to using an ability on Herblore, to putting 37 people on Cooking duty, but only five on Prayer. There's just too much to take into account with anima costs. 7kyt1iT.gif --WINE OF GOOD HEALTH (Actually Stinko) 18:12, July 16, 2016 (UTC)

Support 1,2 - The accounts for idle adventure are not even linked to RuneScape accounts; just because it has the name "RuneScape" in it does not mean we should throw it all on this wiki. --Jlun2 (talk) 14:48, July 16, 2016 (UTC)

Support 1 - In addition to "major" lore, we can probably summarise smaller character's involvement in Idle Adventures in one or two paragraphs too. So for instance, "Farmer Fred appears in RuneScape Idle Adventures and provides X quests, wherein he requests that you pick cabbages". Oppose 3 - It's definitely a different game. Prefer 2 over 1 for lore, but I'm not sure I care too much at this point. Jagex says they're going to be the same lore, but that can change. Meanwhile, meh. --Saftzie (talk) 21:14, July 16, 2016 (UTC)

Support 1, Oppose 2 and 3 - play it safe, treat it as a seperate game, but with some of the same treatment that Armies of Gielinor got. --Deltaslug (talk) 02:49, July 19, 2016 (UTC)

Comment - "i.e idle-adventures.runescape.wikia" why is the hyphen needed Star Talk ayy lmao ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) 08:39, July 19, 2016 (UTC)

Why not just idle.runescape.wikia Ancient talisman.png Oil4 Talk 10:46, July 27, 2016 (UTC)

Support 1 and 3, neutral on 2 - Eeeeeeeehhhhhhhhh --dDbvitC.pngScuzzy Betahib8CAd.png 14:16, July 19, 2016 (UTC)

Support 2 or 1, oppose 3 - depending on how reliable a source Chronicle is considered for game lore. Oppose fully documenting Chronicle here, its a separate game and could potentially be a big waste of time to add everything here if the game isn't successful (i.e. Darkscape). This isn't about Chronicle. It's about RuneScape Idle Adventures on Steam. 7kyt1iT.gif --WINE OF GOOD HEALTH (Actually Stinko) 18:24, July 19, 2016 (UTC)
Gaz just pointed out that I was confusing Idle Adventures and Chronicle as well, but it doesn't change my opinion on how we should handle it. Magic logs detail.pngIsobelJTalk page 18:29, July 19, 2016 (UTC)

Closed - While there is a lot of discussion about a new wiki on this thread, I will note that we do not have the authority to prohibit any editor from making a wiki (nor do we have the authority to compel someone to make a new wiki). Thus, while there is a lot of interest in making a new wiki, we have no means to implement it. Thus, for the RuneScape Wiki, the three proposed options boil down to 1. add lore only; 2. add nothing; 3. add everything. There is a consensus here to add lore and only lore from Idle Adventures to RuneScape Wiki articles where appropriate. --LiquidTalk 01:23, August 2, 2016 (UTC)
