Forum:Referrals Not Nominations
Ok, I just wanted to put out this idea...instead of nominations for cc ranks, why not have the people that are already ranked decide the new rank. Since you already trust them, let them decide. ADDED ON: This idea would allow for less arguments and would be based on people that are trusted. If you look on the now spammed up rfr page, there are numerous people listed, most of which are good, and some of which are un-needed, (ex: mine). I understand the thinking of the rfr page, but i think it could be solved more simply by having a select number of trusted people do the changing.

Comment - I would like for you to elaborate on this and further explain your point.22:17, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
Comment - What about people like me, who went through this process, and got a rank? it would be unfair on the people honestly requesting an RFR.22:24, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
Comment- I understand what you are saying lvl 3, but things sometimes have to change. I understand that you had to go through this, but i think that this will help the wikia cc in a good, positive way.22:31, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
Comment - So you're saying, whenever we would need new ranks in the cc, the already-ranked and trusted folk should recommend wikian X for a rank? And not allow self-nominations or nominations from non-ranks?22:32, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
Oppose - The community decides, for we are all equal. By allowing only certain users decide, they're are being elevated. The community decides what it thinks is best for the wiki, and by extension, the cc.
<edit conflict> If we allow only ranks to nominate, that's the same problem. If we ban self noms, it may work, but I'm not sure yet.22:35, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
Oppose - I do see pros and cons to this. A pro is that with admins, knowing what they are doing, nominating folks they seem fit for the job, would not make nonsense proposals. A con is, well, what Gazica said.22:40, January 31, 2010 (UTC)
Oppose - We as ranks don't have any authority to do so, nor should we. That could (potentially) lead to corruption, etc. Banning self nominations could work, if we added some constrictions to it. Chaos Monk Talk • Sign 01:10, February 1, 2010 (UTC)
- Also, current ranks may choose their friends and forget that they need users with the correct attributes which would make it unfair =/ Swiz Talk Review Me 17:11, February 1, 2010 (UTC)
