I think we should add a quest review section here to make it easier for player to be able to choose between a good and bad quest to do according to the general consensus. It gives the player a sense of wat quest hes going to do and how much fun it would be and we could put an averag user rating.

ex: i would have never done rat catchers if i had not know how awfully boring it would be.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jadedoumani (talk).

Strong oppose - Where to start... First, all quests are good, each has a story and and gives benefits. Second, this is not neutral point of view and is against RS:NOT#SOAPBOX. If this is started, there would be edits wars over the goodness or badness of the quest. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 03:49, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Strong oppose - Our job is to present information in an encyclopedic manner. Anything of this sort would be personal opinion that does not belong on the wiki. Everything that Evil said is also true. --LiquidTalk 03:54, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - Feel free to put it in your userspace, but as this is against policy it will not exist in the mainspace. Cheers, HaloTalk 04:19, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - It's not encyclopaedic and very subjective. Hunter cape (t).png Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask.png 06:01, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Strong oppose - Per the Evil Helm under a Halo worn by Sentra. 222 talk 06:50, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Since when can a [club manager] be a saint?. Hunter cape (t).png Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask.png 07:06, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Obviously the "evil helm" corrupts the mind. Duh! 222 talk 07:08, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Strong Oppose - Yeah, let's go tell our readers what a boring quest Cooks Assistant is bad_fetustalk 06:53, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Make it a form then try and improve the idea than just reject it plus we should make a poll to see if the general population wants this Jadedoumani 07:13, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

We use consensus and not polls, see RS:NOT#DEMOCRACY. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 07:15, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
In addition, I don't see how this proposal could be modified to make it useful and agree with our policies mentioned above. ʞooɔ 07:17, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Ill try but i still think its a very good idea Jadedoumani 07:18, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Strong Oppose - Per above. " OMG Another cook in Recipe for Disaster is sooooooooooo boring. Seriously Jagex, I THOUGHT YOU WERE BETTER THAN THAT!!!! :'( " -.- Matt (t) 07:25, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - It says as long we rephrase it in a certain way it will work for example imagin a grade was given to the quest Cooks Assisstant for example 30 percent by the players we can not say it The quest was boring and a waist of time.

But if we stated it this way "Majority[70%] didnt like and enjoy the quest''

then we'd be following rules and it would work  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jadedoumani (talk).

Oppose - Per above, you can still just state your opinions in your mainspace and get others to comment aswell. And =P Sentra - [Pharos] 07:31, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I dont understand its a helpful idea that would help players choose the next quest to go on easier y does no one agree to the idea Jadedoumani 07:38, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Becuase it is pure opinion, and opinions are not facts. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 07:44, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
In the rules it says if we rephrase it that way its not an opinion but a fact cause the way we say makes it a fact that the majority dont like is a fact not an opinion. Jadedoumani 07:47, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
"In the rules it says if we rephrase it" Where does it say that? Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 07:52, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
As a wiki we are bit stricter on facts and details over opinions. - [Pharos] 07:54, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Where would you like us to get our numbers? Would you like us to poll random people and ask them if they like Cook's Assistant? This is just trying to get around the fact that this proposal is formulated entirely on opinion. We give the facts. And "70% didn't like the quest" is not a fact, and it's not relevant either. ʞooɔ 07:57, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Fine but according to u then u cant decide if a quest is long or hard as it is merely opinion just like deciding if a quest is fun or not because its according to the people who played evey one has a diffeent opinion. second i think we need a person who has not done many quests to tell us if this will help him or not Jadedoumani 08:05, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
The difficulty is normally set down by Jagex, you know, the ones who made it? How will someone who hasn't done many quests know if it will help him better than one who has done it and used the rewards? If someone has done lots of quests wont it be easier for them to compare? - [Pharos] 08:15, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
How will it help the experienced if hes already finished the quest i just proposed this so people who havnt dont the quest will be able to make a discion easier on the next quest to go on Jadedoumani 08:25, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
He is saying that it will be easier for experienced questers than novices. Also, do you under stand our policies on neutrality? Finally, please try and spell correctly, it is easier to understand and looks much more professional. 222 talk 08:52, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Spell right? "Also, do you under stand out policies on neutrality?". I lol'd. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 08:55, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
*tut tut* the R key and T key are next to each other... 222 talk 08:58, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
"Spell right"? Look who's talking, not signing is such a rookie mistake =P - [Pharos] 09:01, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
I did sign... and "Also, do you under stand our". Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 09:07, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
I meant 222 didn't sign - [Pharos] 09:10, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Me is having bad spelling (<I almost forgot the p there) day. 222 talk 09:24, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I don't see any of you proposing a better idea how about giving me constructive critiscism instead of just turning my idea down I think it will help alot of player find quests which they will enjoy and have fun with so they can apreciate the game. How about you get one person to post a review for each quest and give it a aiting based on gameplay, story, and ect.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jadedoumani (talk).

Plainly, we don't do that. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 09:17, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Edit conflict with Evil There's improving a good idea that has flaws and there is rejecting a proposal that people see as having no place on the wiki even with any improvements, if possible. Unfortunately this is one of the rejected ones. In general, a lot of people see this proposal as being unworkable as well as upsetting many solid policies. It is unworkable because it is inevitable that there will be many differing opinions that simply cannot be just compromised and put together. You cannot just get one person to write up a review because there will be disagreements. Different players will have vastly differing opinions on each quest's difficulty, enjoyability, and whether it is a quest that should or should not be done. I hope this clears things up. 222 talk 09:24, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
How about, to maybe change our opinions, you create an example review at This page - [Pharos] 09:29, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Can I be the guy who inevitably disagrees with the one players opinion on a quest? 222 talk 09:31, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Ill tryJadedoumani 09:32, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - Although I'd like the wiki to do these it would violate NPOV.   Swizz Talk   Events!   09:53, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose -Per all those who said it violated the NPOV.svco4bY.png3Gf5N2F.png 01:06, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Weak oppose - User reviews should not be a part of the mainspace; however, I will gladly add a "Reception" section to quest articles if the quests get significant attention on the Forums, particularly if JMods participate in the discussions. Reliable sources! White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 18:05, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

I proposed an idea were people could post review for a certain quest and I have been told to make a trial one to see if they might like it please go to this site and post it hopefuly in the future we might make more. User:Jadedoumani/quest review example

Can someone please add a poll to vote if people liked it or not  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jadedoumani (talk).

Where would you like me top place the poll BTW? Inside the review page? - [Pharos] 10:23, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
I'd like it below the intro I wrote. Jadedoumani 10:50, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - You do understand that even a positive result from the poll doesn't do anything because consensus is currently against it here, right? HaloTalk 20:54, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Strong oppose - I have steadfastly opposed the use of any poll in aiding any decision. They're too easily rigged and violate RS:CONSENSUS and RS:NOT#DEMOCRACY. --LiquidTalk 21:00, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Closed - The proposal will not be implemented. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 19:31, September 10, 2010 (UTC)
