I was in the R S Wikia clan chat, minding my own business, when some ranked users talked about "resetting the clan chat," or kicking everyone to get a fresh start. A few minutes after this started, I was kicked for no reason. Are ranked users allowed to "reset" the clan chat at will, when they think that we need not be.... there?--Cheers, Off-hand ascension crossbow.pngYodaAscension crossbow.png 02:26, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

EDIT - Somehow I was allowed in a few minutes after the kick.--Cheers, Off-hand ascension crossbow.pngYodaAscension crossbow.png 02:27, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

That was because the clan chat was reset. Lol  Tien  02:34, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

EDIT no.2 - I was kicked again after getting back into the chat.--Cheers, Off-hand ascension crossbow.pngYodaAscension crossbow.png 02:29, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Was the clan chat full? You may have been bumped out. scoot4.pngscooties 02:33, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - It seemed a discussion flared about resetting the cc, then suddenly users started getting kicked. After all/most non-ranked users were kicked, I had no choice but to kick the ranked users that were left if we were to allow everyone back in. The second time once most people had rejoined (confused), it seemed everyone started to be kicked again. That time only the ranked users were left at the end, meaning it could not have been a silver star/admin who kicked. Then I left. I'm not totally sure what happened. Chicken7 >talk 02:34, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - everyone said that Jack Spiral1 did it. I don't know why... but he did.--Cheers, Off-hand ascension crossbow.pngYodaAscension crossbow.png 02:37, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - The clan chat was not full. I am firm in my deduction that it must have been Jack Spiral. First things were said about resetting the clan chat. I saw no reason to reset it, assuming that one of the only reasons for doing so would be to bring back wrongly-kicked people. As far as I know, no one was. Jack says "I Will Kick You All!" and I was kicked. I let it go, though. Once a couple of us came back, Jack gets so excited over kicking and says "kicking is fun". All non-ranks were kicked again. I returned and was 100% sure that there was absolutely no reason for us to be kicked again. After everyone came back, Jack high tailed and left before I could address him about it.  Panjy16  02:38, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - The only ones who could kick at the time were ChickenSeven, Stelercus, Jack Spirall, and Martellato. The only one who really would have kicked us was Jack. He consistently railed about kicking, and I saw the comment that Jill said above me also. Furthermore, right before the second time I was kicked, Jack said "Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha". Thus, I think we can conclusively state that Jack did it. The action that must be taken still needs to be seen. --Liquidhelium 02:45, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I know for certain it was Jack who kicked the second time. I can only guess at who kicked the first time, because after the first kick, nobody claimed responsibility. after coming back into the Clan Chat again, Jack then made the comments Panjy mentioned in her comment above. I know that I was the last one in the Clan Chat both times, due to me doing What Lies Below and being clueless of any users being kicked. This seemed to have come from, as chicken said, a conversation over "CC resetting", a subject which should not have really been brought up in such a manner in the Clan Chat. I wouldn't believe Jack to have done this, and I think he needs a pretty godd explanation for the motive he had for for the incidents that ocurred today. Comment - A long time ago, when Jack ran for his rank, I told him this. However, I removed it because I thought it would offend him. But now it seems that it has proved slightly true; sometimes his excitement may get the better of him. If you read this, Jack, don't think that this has changed my opinion of you; you're a great guy who is fun to talk to. I, however, would like an explanation for your motives. Smile  Tien  03:26, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I was not in the CC at the time and do not know the happened except for what I have read here, but I have seen Jack's emotions get the better of him instead of following the CC rules. Prayer.png Jedi Talk HS Log Tracker Summoning.png 06:59, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I suppose I should give an explication of everything that happened. I proposed the idea that the cc be reset sarcastically for the sake of entertaining the people in the cc at the time, but then a user started to kick people (and I assure you that I did not kick anyone when the cc was reset both times) and Chicken kicked the rest of them so that the cc could be effectively reset (no clue why it had to be, we had just kicked a troll). Then Jack returned and mentioned to me in private chat that he did not kick anyone in the previous event and chose to reset the cc a second time. He then had to leave. I feel the only action that should be taken is that we warn those responsible and then move on. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 10:38, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I kicked the last 3 or 4 people (2 ranked) the first time as many users had already been kicked by someone (not me) and we had no choice by that point but to reset the cc or else there would be many disgruntled players unable to enter. Then I told Ruud to leave before leaving myself. Chicken7 >talk 12:43, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Where was Cteng? Wouldn't it have been easier to change the cc settings so that only Generals can enter and then asking whoever was left to leave manually? --Gold ore.png Mercifull UK serv.svg (Talk) 12:54, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Generals are b'crats. Santa hat.png Powers38 おはようヾ(´・ω・`) 13:02, January 27, 2010 (UTC)
Yes I know that. When you change the minimum rank to enter a cc everyone below that is automaticly "kicked". This does not kick people in the traditional sense by blocking them from entering for an hour. Then the few remaining people need only leave the chat manually and then the cc owner has effectively reset the room. --Gold ore.png Mercifull UK serv.svg (Talk) 14:41, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I shall not say much just to avoide my comment sounding emotional, but I would like to point out a few things. 1. Other users (ranked) users in cc had commented on how it was fun (including Chicken, Stelercus, Ruud and me). We were also jokingly comparing how many we had kicked in the "reset" and I had only 2 kicks. I kind of asked to see if we could do it again, and I guess I mistakingly took a comment as a guess. I apologies to all who were inconvenienced by my actions, and hope this helps the Yg make a well informed decision, good day.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jack Spiral1 (talk).

I never intoned that it was fun, I've never even taken part in one. Ruud (talk)(Suggest me naems) 15:59, January 27, 2010 (UTC)
I admit fault for lol-ing at the thought of resetting the cc. I didn't bring up the topic though, no did I put it into action. Ruud didn't say nothing though. Chicken7 >talk 00:34, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

Comment The only reason we have ranked users is to kick trolls and other sorts of trouble makers. Resetting the CC is something that first off, should only have to be done in the very very rare case it is glitching and not letting the right people in or showing 2 or 3 of multiple users and causing confusion. Secondly, if it is to be reset EVERYONE needs to be clearly informed ahead of time so there are no misunderstandings. I would like to think that we can call these events a simple mistake that will never be repeated and we can all move on. I feel certain (but will say it anyhow so it is on the record) that Jack and everyone else is well aware how easily people can be upset at getting kicked from the CC, and just to be on the safe side we should never joke about kicking. Because then if someone is accidentally kicked (although its harder to do that accidentally now) people may think you did it to be a jerk. The power to kick is a responsibility (yea I know not on the same level of Spidey-powers) and must be treated as such.--Degenret01 15:56, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Comment I know, I'm not a major frequenter here. Though I thought I'd share my opinion anyway. I was there when the "reset" happened. Also, i like that there were 5 higher ranking users on when " mean ol' jack" went on his kicking spree. Is there really nothing you could've done? Honestly, it's not a big deal to me, but i hate how you guys have thrown jack into the line of fire from this. What I saw was: someone wanting to reset the cc, then, once everyone did the wtf y wuz i kiked lol? you guys said jack kicked all the users. The fact is, nobody can confirm or deny this. So stop blaming jack for this. Also, it's not that big of a deal because nobody was permabanned or anything -Synkk

I think the whole issue here is that there was a mass kicking for a reset when there shouldn't have been. The fact of the matter is that a reset should be a last resort thing and everyone should be informed of it before the kicking. scoot4.pngscooties 02:19, January 28, 2010 (UTC)
I'd like to say a few things. 1. I'm not blaming Jack, and although I think he kicked a few people, I don't think he was the only one. 2. I don't think anyone needs to be deranked/banned because of one incident. This wiki seems to get scared because of one off incidents and just shuts down the whole operation so it never happens again (like what happened with the YT channel). We all learn from our mistakes. 3. I wasn't paying full attention to the cc, but I believe the "joke" about resetting had been going on for 5 minutes or so, so I can understand if people were annoyed about being kicked, but they shouldn't be clueless as that means they were not paying attention. Chicken7 >talk 02:45, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

Closed - The event is over, and no one has proposed any action toward those involved. JIOQMBucket detail.pngrwojy 18:24, January 28, 2010 (UTC)
