Problem

I have noticed a problem with the Skill mastery page, In the section it shows the number of player with all 99s it assumes that everyone with a total level of 2475 (99x25) has 99 in all skills, however it is possible that people could have level 100 dungeoneering and 98 in 1 skill. I cannot find an example of a player like this but it is very possible that a character has a 2475 total level but not all 99s. Deoxys39 is an example of a player with 100 dungeoneering but without 99 in all other skills

Possible solutions

  • One solution would be to look through all the players with a total level of at least 2475 but after a while there would be far too many player to keep track of.
  • What I think is a better solution is to change it from being all 99s to being players with 2496 total level.

Discussion

Support raising maximum level and perhaps renaming the template to "Players with maximum levels". The point of all 99's prior to Dungeoneering's release was to list those who had maxed out their statistics. Obviously, since Dungeoneering now goes to 120, I think that calling someone with all 99's maxed is a bit moot and outdated. Therefore, to reflect the new maximum level, I'd rather change it to only include players with all 99's and 120 Dungeoneering. --LiquidTalk 22:18, October 29, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - Jagex considers a player with all 99's maxed per their notorious high level forum entry requirement for all 99's and not 99x24 + 120. There is no reason to change the format, just check each player. Ryan PM 03:10, October 30, 2010 (UTC)

Would you be willing to check through the current 602 players and future thousands of players? of course when 1 person gets 2475 total you have to check through every single "maxed" player because they wont necessarily be the lowest ranked "maxed" player. I don't think it is what Jagex think that matters, it is that we are giving wiki users possible faulse information. Thai tong 06:44, October 30, 2010 (UTC)

Change max to 2496 total level - More practical and suits what most people now would call a "maxed player." Farming cape (t).png Lil cloud 9 Talk 12:23, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

Have both - Why don't we have an "skill mastery" and a "maxed" or something like that, as jagex still uses all 99's for things like the high level forum. Hunter cape (t).png Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask.png 12:28, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

Both - As there is still a dungeoneering 99 cape, which is called "skill mastry" in the skill guide(clicking on your dung lvl) the milestone part. Therefore, 99 for all is still skill mastry in all skills. As this is not maxed out, there should also be a thing for players with all 99s and dung 120. So then we have 2 mentionings: 1 for players with skill mastry in all skills(called "players with level 99 in all skills") and 1 for maxed out players(called "players with the highest total level possible")(better names can of course be suggested, as this is just a suggestion too) JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 15:29, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

The whole point is that it's not easy to tell who has all 99s vs somebody with 110 dung and not all 99s. Farming cape (t).png Lil cloud 9 Talk 20:40, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

Be realistic, nobody is going to bother checking through thousands of players each week Thai tong 14:33, November 4, 2010 (UTC)

Change max to 2496 - Nobody has time to check whether the player has all 99s, and there are more useful things that user could be doing. LordDarkPhantom 14:15, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

Q can do evrything with his bot... JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 11:47, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

Use a bot, and make 2 pages - Split into skill mastery (all level 99s) and maxed statistics (all level 99s and 120 Dungeoneering). Use a bot to check the players; they exist to make menial tasks easier. Write a bot that can check the hiscores, and see if the player has 99 in everything, or 100 dunge and 98 in something else. Well if a bot can do it accurately then I think that would be a good solution. I also support the idea of having 2 catagories, 1 for all 99s and 1 for max total level. Thai tong 07:35, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Really, this can be implemented without consensus if needed. Someone can just go ahead and make the necessary changes. I won't close this yet in case people have more to say, because a consensus is pointless and because there isn't a clear one developed. --LiquidTalk 02:09, November 30, 2010 (UTC)

I think after waiting so long this could be closed. Nobody seems to have more to say. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 12:35, December 7, 2010 (UTC)

Closed - Both have been added to Skill mastery and {{99s}}. ʞooɔ 22:47, December 17, 2010 (UTC)
