Forum:Other Discussions on Main Page
Proposal to have open discussions on Requests for Deletion, Admin Requests, Wikian Title Requests, Requests to Merger, etc also appear on the Front Page.
Currently, the Forum:Yew Grove appears on the front page. But we do have other ongoing discussions at any time. Examples
Wouldn't these discussions also be better suited to appear on the front page?
Comment - I think the reason we put YG discussions on the main page was because we generally discuss major changes here. I'm not sure the average reader is going to care about requests for merging. --LiquidTalk 21:33, April 30, 2017 (UTC)
- any thought to some condensed page for such discussions if not the front page? --Deltaslug (talk) 22:13, April 30, 2017 (UTC)
Not on the same level - Granted, there have been many YG threads that really shouldn't have even been made, but by and large they are things that will have some impact, whether on articles, templates, how information is presented, or on how things get done behind the scenes. The things listed in the proposal are small and only impact one article or one person, for the most part. Degenret01 (talk) 21:51, April 30, 2017 (UTC)
Oppose I feel if someone is really interested in what is being discussed, they can find their way over to RuneScape:Active discussions. - 22:17, April 30, 2017 (UTC)
- Give it a few days mate, someone may suggest something to turn it around. It never hurts to leave things up for a bit. Degenret01 (talk) 23:19, April 30, 2017 (UTC)
Comment - Just link RS:AD. 05:49, May 1, 2017 (UTC)
- There's already a link to it in the bottom right corner. -- 06:25, May 1, 2017 (UTC)
I think the request pages (merging, splitting, deletion, undeletion) are too esoteric and are not likely to draw comments from anons. The Wikian requires users to be evaluated based on their contributions – the only people who can really do that are other users who edit regularly. They're probably not going to go to the Main Page just for a list of discussions when RS:AD already exists and provides much more information. --06:25, May 1, 2017 (UTC)
