Forum:New FIMG Format
I would like to propose that we modify our method of handling featured image nominations. The main issue is that now, the nominations can get pretty long, which makes administrative work difficult when closing/extending.
I propose that all future nominations have to be on subpages of RuneScape:Featured images. For example, a nomination for Ardougne castle would be on the page titled RuneScape:Featured images/Ardougne castle RuneScape:Featured images/File:Ardougne castle.PNG. This is analagous to how things like RfD's or ER's are done.
It means that when moving nominations or archiving them, only one line of text has to be moved instead of many. It will also aid those making new nominations, since it is easier to find the correct section to add a new nomination. I've seen many users add new nominations to the 7+days section, simply because the latter is too long.
Support - Sounds like a good idea. My only concern is that the titles should be as: RuneScape:Featured images/File:Ardougne castle.png. Not RuneScape:Featured images/Ardougne castle. >.> We're featuring images here, not articles.20:37, May 21, 2010 (UTC)
Support - However, the subpage name should match that of the file, not necessarily what it is an image of to prevent confusion if two images of the same thing ever come up. I have been wondering why we have not done it like this for a long time. Good idea!20:40, May 21, 2010 (UTC)
Comment - My only concern with is this is that people should be able to see all the nominations on one page.12:03, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
- It will work exactly like RfD and ER, you can see them all on one page, but when you go to edit, it puts you on separate page. HaloTalk 12:28, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
Weak Support - In that case, I think this would only marginally make the process better.13:12, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
Support - I always hated closing them. However what shall become of the FIMG nominations that are already archived under the old system? Just left there I take it?05:18, May 27, 2010 (UTC)
