I think we should edit the Template for Money Making Guides: Recurring so that it removes the amount earned per hour or per day calculations.

Items such as Divine Locations have a fixed number of times you can interact per day, or shopping Feathers or Rune from stores/shops, you can only buy so much in a 24 hr period.

It is true that say with a Divine Box trap, in a span of < 1 min, you can on avg make 25k. You might be able to interact with 2 in the course of the day.

But it is misleading to have a calculation that assumes that the player could do this repeatedly per hour for potentially millions, when in reality, they make 50k, 100k, or whatever in a span of just 3 minutes, and can't do anything else for the rest of the day with this recurring method.

In this case, removing it ONLY from items that you can only do so much per hour (like Diving box trap) is a good idea. But not removing it completely from the template. This is one of our strong points. — Jr Mime (talk) 22:53, February 27, 2014 (UTC)

Oppose - This is meant as a relative number to calculate efficiency. If I value my time at 5m/hour, I don't want to do a short method that only equates to 2m/hour. Maybe it deserves better explanation if people don't understand what the number is, but we should certainly keep it. MolMan 22:56, February 27, 2014 (UTC)

The definition of a recurring method, at least as I've defined it, is one which can't be done continuously. I think it's relatively clear that those methods can't be done all the time, although it wouldn't hurt to better state what it means at the beginning of the section. I think effective hourly profit is a useful quantity, and it's also the best way to sort the recurring methods. Seems like all there is here is a lack of explanation of what the terms mean. We can fix that, and while we're at it we could also add the recurrence time to the table. ʞooɔ 23:26, February 27, 2014 (UTC)

Oppose - I think it's fairly clear at the moment that recurring methods != non-recurring methods. That being said, I think the recurring table could be formatted to be A. Easier to read/understand (Adding required skills, for example) and 2. Look less like a rough draft of an excel spreadsheet. The non-recurring table looks very polished and is easy to read at a glance.
