Forum:Merging Dungeoneering Pages
Hello everyone. I've been looking through the list of stubs on the wiki and found that almost all if not all of the pages for the Unstrung Dungeoneering bows (e.g. Bovistrangler shortbow (u) are listed there and almost all have little information of consequence on them. I propose that we simply merge all the unstrung bow pages with the normal bow pages. It would just be more efficient and more effective for the wiki.
Comment - Non-DG bows are like this as well, but have more information. They have a dropping monsters section (but I don't think any DG monsters drop unstrung bows), and a step-by-step guide on how to make the bow into the strung version. We could incorporate this onto the DG unstrung bow pages to give it a little more information. 18:07, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, this is true, although that still wouldn't, in my opinion, provide enough info to even get the content past the infobox, even with a high-detail image or two. Also, a step-by-step guide would be not much more than use the knife on the wood, use the string on the bow.
- It should. But either way RS:G says that they shouldn't be merged. ɳex undique 18:22, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
Oppose - You're very right, but being a different item, it must have its own article, as with Shortbow (u). 18:20, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
Oppose - I don't want to just blindly follow policy, but I do agree with it. We should have an article for every item so we're a more complete database of everything RuneScape. If we merge together items it becomes more difficult to be able to find the information that you are searching for. 18:47, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
Strong oppose - This goes against RS:G in every way possible:
- Does item A have the same purpose/use as item B? No, unstrung bows are unwieldable and strung ones cannot be used for fletching.
- Can item A be substituted with item B? No, you can't use an unstrung bow to kill anything.
Better idea - Make the pages better. I just made a form page for the 20 unstrung bows and put it in all of them. It took me 15 minutes, and they now all have a fair bit of information and are no longer stubs. ʞooɔ 19:47, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
