Well, the NPC Store Survey WikiGuild serves a very good purpose. I think it is time it was made official, instead of being stuck on the proposal subpage. It has quite a few dedicated user. Already, some users and I are planning to revamp all the shop articles using a simple design on each (The planned design for the shop articles can be seen here and here). And the WikiGuild has been a proposal for months and months. What harm can be done from making it official? I think there are many other WikiGuilds that should also be made official. As of yet, there has been no opposition on the discussion page. Please bring up concerns and/or support here. Cheers.

  • Support - Improving the quality of our articles is always a good idea. C.ChiamTalk 08:05, October 1, 2009 (UTC)
  • Weak Support - Template looks good and the pages look a lot neater but I dont see the need for a WikiGuild. We should just agree on the design of shop pages on a YG thread and then anyone can get to work improving them. --Gold ore.png Mercifull UK serv.svg (Talk) 08:08, October 1, 2009 (UTC)
Comment - Maybe so. But that is not all the project is about. There are articles missing. There are prices that are out-dated or not even there. Some users will have to go out to these places on RuneScape and check the prices and get new screenshots. There are many other tasks, a lot that will need discussion. A WikiGuild will enable the users who are working on the project to discuss on the WikiGuild page, rather than heaps of YG discussions. And if the WG gets a page, it can link everything there, list tasks that need to be done, link to the "model page", etc. And what harm will one subpage do? • Oppose - On the grounds that no project needs to go through such a step as "making it official". I find this whole concept to be repugnant and very anti-wiki and essentially against basic philosophies like RS:AEAE. Essentially, I don't even understand what is really gained by making something "official" at all... with perhaps the very, very minor step of putting a direct link on the side bar. Even that isn't necessarily something that requires an "official" stamp on it. I was against the concept with the RSWP, and I'm against that here. Having to get community consensus every time we want to put together some sort of project just adds bureaucracy and needless red tape to somebody trying to help organize a project and do something different. Oh, I like this project, and I'm glad that there are additional contributors that want to get along with it. I just don't think it should be made official, because it already is. It has a page on this wiki and it has been already documented to have more than sufficient support in terms of actual contributors to be "viable". Indeed, that should be the only criteria: Is the project concept viable or not viable. In other words, will it sustain itself or not? Even that I have questions about in terms of demanding even that sort of level of participation, but if we think "one-man band" type projects shouldn't happen, at least that is consistency here. --Robert Horning 17:11, October 2, 2009 (UTC)
Comment - I see your concerns. But this proposal was to get the WikiGuild out of the proposal section. It has no use there anymore, it was supported, people signed up, it worked. Because it is a proposal, maybe some people do not realise that what the WikiGuild hopes to achieve is already being acted towards. Also, you said about putting a link on the sidebar; I don't think that'd be necessary, as the whole wiki does not need to access it, only interested wikians. Maybe 'official' was the wrong word to use. You're right, it is really "already official". It has met all the criteria (if any) so why don't we move it out of the proposals section, and give it its own subpage. Cheers, Chicken7 >talk 03:38, October 3, 2009 (UTC)
Be bold and do it yourself.   az talk   10:02, October 4, 2009 (UTC)
Do you mean move it out of proposals? I would but there is opposition here (surprisingly) Cheers, Chicken7 >talk 04:51, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
Is my opposition is stopping you from using the "move" button on your browser and renaming this to a simple Wikiguild page, or to some other place on the wiki? Hardly. My opposition is to requiring a vote to make that happen. I am grateful that attention is being brought to this wikiproject, which is perhaps the only real rationale for making it official, but I'd rather that not be a limiting factor when getting things done on this wiki. If being called a proposed project somehow is grating to you and that you think active wikiguild projects need to be somewhere else, I encourage you to make some other space to make that happen. --Robert Horning 16:08, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
Recently, I was inactive for a few months. I have only been back for a week or so, and I didn't want to go in straight away and make something official without giving people a chance who might have concerns. And, there is already concerns from a few people who say that it may not even need to be a wikiguild. I too don't think this process needs to be taken, but a few other admins also said this discussion should be made. I might close this discussion soon anyway, as there appears to be no opposition (dis-counting your comment) Cheers, Chicken7 >talk 08:43, October 7, 2009 (UTC)

Weak Support - Per Mercifull - Looks great, but i dont see a need for a guild.Slayer helmet.png Hmanballer talk | edit count | sign | HS Fire cape.png 04:07, October 5, 2009 (UTC)

Support - it apears to be a good faith guild, and a project I would like to see compleated. I am happy to give them whatever extra rights come with being an official guild. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 09:25, October 6, 2009 (UTC)

Closed and Passed - Consensus has been reached. The only opposition was against having to propose this, not the actual proposal. But the WikiGuild will not be moved until this discussion is finalised, as it may just result in more moves and changes. Cheers, Chicken7 >talk 10:44, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
