I've been bringing this up whenever major Mahjarrat related content has been released. We should start using rejuvenated forms whenever an image of a Mahjarrat is used on the site. This is the current and true forms of all relevant Mahjarrat. Obviously in cases where it makes more sense to use the skeletal forms, those images can be used. But, for example, the infobox on all Mahjarrat characters should default to Rejuvenated. It's especially egrerious that Sliske is using it's ROTM model - this model was used once. The updated Sliske is a major Sixth Age character and has appeared in his current form more times, and it's unlikely they will ever go back to the old model.

Support - I think we had them at rejuvenated at one point, but then some butthurt person went around and changed them all because of spoilers or something (which we are way past). sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 21:36, March 25, 2014 (UTC)

Neutral - We chronologically see them in their skeletal forms first, and skeletal is generally what people expect Mahjarrat to look like. That said I have no strong opinion one way or the other. Adventurer's log Wahisietel (Talk) Quest map icon.png 21:42, March 25, 2014 (UTC)

Who says that's how they expect them to be seen? MolMan 21:47, March 25, 2014 (UTC)
Battleben just did... Ancient talisman.png Oil4 Talk 06:19, March 26, 2014 (UTC)
It's come up a couple times in the cc why mahjarrat images were not the rejuv form. I'd just like to know whom battleben actually means by most people. MolMan 14:44, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

Support - But " Obviously in cases where it makes more sense to use the skeletal forms, those images can be used. " is kind of meaningless. I'd suggest just making it using the form most recently released. Ancient talisman.png Oil4 Talk 21:46, March 25, 2014 (UTC)

Oppose - We used to have the first form ever encountered (ghost thing for Az, camel man for Akky, Ali for Wahi etc.) as primary infobox. This is fairly silly due to inconsistency. Therefore it should be standardised to either having all Mahjarrat use their skeletal or their rejuvenated form in the first infobox. Current status quo is the former and I'd like it to be kept that way for two reasons. One; skeletal forms are more iconic and the first non-disguised Mahjarrat form people meet. And more importantly, two; for consistency - exactly the same reason why we don't have ghosts and camel men anymore. Rejuvenated forms are rather different (Sliske vs Kharshai vs Wahi) whereas all skeletal forms are the same model. Then there is the thing of Mahjarrat not having or never using a rejuvenated form (Jhallan, Khazard) but then again there are Mahjarrat without skeletal form (Bilrach, Kharshai) so that can go either way. This all said, I don't passionately care, but my preference definitely lies with skeletal. Using the most recently released form isn't a good option IMO; that just kills consistency completely. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 21:14, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

Khazard has a rejuvenated form. But yes, I agree we shouldn't necessarily always use the most recently released form, if we did that then we'd have Nadir Zemouregal as his primary infobox despite him appearing in his standard rejuvenated appearance in ROTM, TWW, MPD and FOTG. If we were to go ahead with this, I'd argue that all Mahjarrat should have their standard rejuvenated form as their primary infobox, except Sliske, who should use his Sixth Age appearance, and Lucien, who dies 2 minutes after being Rejuvenated, making his skeletal form more relevent. Why should we be consistent if Jagex aren't Ancient talisman.png Oil4 Talk 21:34, March 26, 2014 (UTC)
This is stupid. We should use their most recent form as RuneScape is progressing in the 6th age. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 02:11, March 27, 2014 (UTC)
Exactly: "except for Sliske and Lucien [and Khazard, because he always uses his skeletal form except directly after rejuvenation]" Therefore the skeletal forms should be used, which have no variations (i.e. Sliske, for instance, has 3 rejuvenated forms but only 1 skeletal form), for consistency. @Oil: that's not a valid argument. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 16:18, March 27, 2014 (UTC)
Khazzy is rejuvenated in Missing, Presumed Death, although arguably, skeletal Khazard is still much more relevant due to his status as a boss monster in the Dominion Tower, so that should probably be kept as the first infobox. Also, worth noting that Bilrach and Kharshai don't even have skeletal forms. Adventurer's log Wahisietel (Talk) Quest map icon.png 16:27, March 27, 2014 (UTC)
"@Oil: that's not a valid argument." - That's exactly what I was saying. "Consistency" is not a good reason to use shitty old images. Ancient talisman.png Oil4 Talk 20:58, March 27, 2014 (UTC)
How are Mahjarrat skeletal forms "shitty old images"? They were released in 2011, at exactly the same time as the rejuvenated ones. Adventurer's log Wahisietel (Talk) Quest map icon.png 21:21, March 27, 2014 (UTC)
Should we really use File:Sliske skeletal.png instead of File:Sliske TWW.png just because "consistency"? Jagex have said that they plan to make the different Mahjarrat more unique looking. Should we keep using the old ROTM images even then because "consistency"? Ancient talisman.png Oil4 Talk 08:25, April 4, 2014 (UTC)

Support - The rejuvenated form makes the most sense as that's what they look like when encountered now. Suppa chuppa Talk 03:30, March 27, 2014 (UTC)

Support - I think the newest in-game model should be used as a default on this Wiki. It makes the most sense. Maybe this can be turned into a policy of some kind? Dragon dagger.png AmoVos 17:21, March 27, 2014 (UTC)

Just because a model is newer doesn't necessarily mean it's better. By that logic, we would have Lucien in his Nadir appearance as the first infobox, which appears briefly in one miniquest and is pretty much exactly the same as the one in ROTM except lacking the smoke and Staff of Armadyl. Likewise, Zemouregal's Nadir model is technically newer, but we haven't seen it used since Nadir, while we've seen the one from ROTM used in many quests since. And as I've said before, Khazard, due being a monster that can be fought at any time in the Dominion Tower, should arguably have his skeletal form first. We can't just have a blanket "most recent model should be used", and it almost certainly shouldn't be a policy, far too minor for that, at most an addition to RS:IMG, but arguably that's unneccessary. Of course, if you're referring to the most recent form USED (and you probably are), most of what I said is moot. But even if we go with most recent form used, things like flashbacks could show Mahjarrat in their skeletal forms again, so.. yeah common sense needs to be applied, whatever we do, but that was pretty obvious anyway. I'm just rambling now, there doesn't seem to be any point to what I'm saying. Adventurer's log Wahisietel (Talk) Quest map icon.png 21:21, March 27, 2014 (UTC)
Something like "the primary NPC infobox should usually be the form we chronologically last saw the character in, but as always use common sense." might work. An example of common sense being used is Jhallan, his appearance in Tale of the Muspah is definitely both more relevant and a better image than his appearance in ROTM, although the ROTM model is just the Tale of the Muspah one with slight alterations :P. And we last see Sir Owen partially zombiefied, I'd argue that shouldn't be the primary image either. Adventurer's log Wahisietel (Talk) Quest map icon.png 21:28, March 27, 2014 (UTC)

That's going to lead to revert wars. Wikians are like goblins. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 06:24, April 1, 2014 (UTC)
Support - Once you all get into revert wars, we'll have legitimate grounds to block you. MolMan 11:07, April 4, 2014 (UTC)
Comment - Yeah, the only reason I started a discussion at all is because it just kept getting reverted. There seems to be a consensus for the change this time, and I think this discussion has been open long enough to proceed, no? 01:56, April 10, 2014 (UTC)

Closure - Mahjarrat images by default shall use their rejuvenated appearance as the primary infobox on an article. Use common sense to determine whether the primary infobox should be skeletal or rejuvenated (e.x Khazard) -- Recent uploads SpineTalkGuest book 02:12, April 10, 2014 (UTC)
