I think that when a crat/admin/anyone kicks in the Clan Chat it should be logged. When logged it will have who was kicked, the date and (maybe) aprox. time, and why they were kicked, and (maybe) proof. This will help people reference kicks if needed, find out why they were kicked, or trying to state a point on yew grove/talk page/etc. When deciding whether someone should be permanently banned from the CC, having a kick log can help have in informed decision. Kicking should be a last resort measure to solving a problem, so it shouldn't be used 'too' often which means logging a kick once a day shouldn't be too annoying. scoot4.pngscooties 02:43, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - Per my interpretation of RS:NOT#OFFSITE. Clan chat is really a separate entity, if someone is kicked, they should contact whoever kicked them in game to find out what the problem was. This seems like it would also be quite a chore for chat moderators, one I doubt they would be keen on doing. --Aburnett(Talk) 02:50, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

One thing, as per Forum:Correlation between Sysop and CC, the cc is not a separate entity than the wiki. RZUDATBucket detail.pngrwojy 03:04, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for bringing that to my attention, however I still believe that this will create unnecessary work. I can't put it any better than Dtm did, K.I.S.S. --Aburnett(Talk) 03:31, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - This much bookkeeping is not necessary. I've noticed that many clan chat users are far too serious about introducing legions of new policies into the clan chat. This would in effect create a Goldberg machine of administration. There is no point in requiring a form to be filled out every time a troll is kicked from chat. On the grounds of the KISS principle, I oppose. Dtm142 02:59, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

  • @Aburnett: By what you say, you also mean everything about the clan chat on this wiki should be taken off it and onto Runescape. All requests for perm banning people cant be on the forums or anything. We should then also remove RS:CC.
  • @Dtm: It would not affect the clan chat users, only the people with kicking powers. It would actually benefit the clan chat users. By taking up a rank in the CC, they agree to all the terms it comes with and everything that's needed from them. Anyone that can get the community to allow them that rank means they must be a good contributor, and that makes petty work. This can also lead to new ways of having people perm banned, for example, 3 kicks for trolling = perm ban or 3 kicks from spamming = perm ban. scoot4.pngscooties 03:19, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Support - After recent problems in the clan chat (and particularly what happened to Christine), having a kick/block log would help tremendously when dealing with the user(s) causing the problem. [1] N7 Elite (Ready to talk now?) 03:11, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - Even though I like the idea, I now understand that it would be a nightmare for admins to perform on a daily basis, so I guess we'll just have to ask the admins themselves why they kicked someone if there was ever a problem with why someone was kicked. Oh well, it was a brilliant idea though Smile. [2] N7 Elite (Ready to talk now?) 07:54, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose As DTM says, it creates a lot of work. Many of the kicks given are for simple stupid trolls, it is not worth making statements and such every time a stupid lil troll gets kicked. If you think kicks are being overdone, then have the kicked introduce screenshots of what they said and were doing when it happened. You either trust the ranked people or you do not.--Degenret01 03:19, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

It's not that they aren't trusted, I trust them all very much, it's that down the road it will make it all worthwhile. scoot4.pngscooties 03:23, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
Okay then, YOU log every kick and all that info every time one happens. I reaffirm it is NOT worth our time logging every time a troll comes in, spams, and gets kicked, Its pretty ridiculous actually. To kick a known trusted user, okay, that is different some, AEAE aside. But not for unknown never been ins only here to be a troll.--Degenret01 03:39, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
Please calm down...how can we tell if a kicked person is a known user? We can't. scoot4.pngscooties 03:45, January 8, 2010 (UTC) There are ways to everything, we can figure a practical way to do it and be less annoying. scoot4.pngscooties 03:49, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
I assure you I am calm, (if rolling my eyes a bit). We know based on their names and if they have told us their wiki names. Most wikians are known.--Degenret01 03:49, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
BTW, I am quite serious in that I suggest that YOU track this information. If you don't know why some one got kicked ask the kicker.--Degenret01 03:51, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah so maybe if there are certain things that should be logged, random spamming shouldn't but if a fight breaks out etc. If you can tell it's not a random vandal. Myabe that could work? (Edit conflict failz) I'm not on enough, I've actually be pretty inactive on rs and I just lost mems for a few days so im on even less than before. scoot4.pngscooties 03:53, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - Per the issues Dtm and Degen point out. Prayer.png Jedi Talk HS Log Tracker Summoning.png 04:31, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - The intent behind this is good, the applications are just far too complicated. Fruit.Smoothie 05:52, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - What DTM says. Basically, it is not worth the effort. Prgmbeta 06:33, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Slight Oppose - Per the above, this would become a maintenance nightmare for admins and I don't see a fair way of restricting these logs to certain "active" users to make it workable. I do think the lack of moderation book-keeping potentially makes CC kicks less fair, but that the only solution for a CC of our size is for the CC to be able to log its own kicks, which is probably not going to ever happen. --Quarenon  Talk

Oppose - Per Dtm. Not necessary. Andrew talk 07:18, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose- Per Dtm. Ancient talisman.png Oil4 Talk 08:12, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - Per Dtm. - TehKittyCatTalk Wikian-Book 12:55, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Request for closure - Overwhelming oppositions. I see now that it's a good idea but too hard and tedious to do. scoot4.pngscooties 20:07, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Closed Clan chat kicks will not be logged at this time. OLMZRYCBucket detail.pngrwojy 20:11, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
