Mod Hohbein

There will be a live surgery with Mod Hohbein. For those that don't know, Mod Hohbein is in charge of communication and relationships between fansites. Below is the details...

J-Mod Surgery Timetable

Welcome to the J Mod Surgery timetable!

Each week you will be able to check this thread and find a location, date and time that a J Mod will be in-game to answer your questions!

We call these meetings 'surgeries' - don't ask us why - nobody actually knows!

Anyway, if you want to pop along to meet a J Mod - you know where we will be! You can ask us anything you like at these events, although we are unlikely to be able to answer any questions about future content (sorry). Also, please bear in mind that J Mods carry anti-spam shields, so it's best to stick with meaningful chat!

We will let you know what each Mod who is running the surgery is a specialist in - but don't think you can only come along if you want to discuss their specialist topic - you can ask us pretty much anything!

We will also try and mix things up a bit - so we plan to hold surgeries at different times and with different J Mods - so keep checking here to see who the next victim, ermmmm sorry, J Mod, will be!

We plan to get some J Mods from all different departments to pop along to surgeries, so you could be chatting with a senior person from Community Management one week, and someone who deals with offence appeals the next!

We look forward to meeting (and hopefully helping) all of you who turn up at a surgery!

See you there!

It'd be nice if we had some questions ready, in case he sees us talking. WWTDD? 15:24, September 10, 2009 (UTC)
I agree: it would be great to attend and have some questions ready. Would we want to ask why we have not been selected as a recognized fansite? What it would take to be recognized? Horsehead Talk 17:31, September 10, 2009 (UTC)

We need to have some Beaurecrats attend to have someone of a higher rank there to represent us. I think as many wikians should come as possible, it'd attract his attention more if more people are from one site. Maybe we could also do a bit of advertising... — Enigma 13:11, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

Remember... RS:AEAE. There is no "rank" on this wiki, although I'd love to see some of the veteran wiki users to try and pose the question about what it might take to be a recognized fansite. Bureaucrats are really no different than anybody else, and it is far and away more important just to get somebody to this chat.
When I said "rank" I meant "power". Unregistered users cant block, delete pages, or make people admins. Philosophically, yes, an IP is equal to a b'crat. But when it comes down to this-is-what-I-can-do-and-this-is-what-you-can-do, a b'crat is considered of a higher power. — Enigma 22:07, September 11, 2009 (UTC)
I'm not understanding why having access to administrative tools means you should "represent the wiki". We obviously can't block people, delete pages, etc on RuneScape so why is that even relevant? Andrew talk 22:09, September 11, 2009 (UTC)
*previous discussion flashback* Jagex would rather speak to one rep. than an entire community, and they're most likely to most listen to an admin/b'crat of the site. — Enigma 01:51, September 12, 2009 (UTC)
Also, if Jagex suggests that it is due to RS gold farmers/sellers advertising on this website that we are not being recognized, inform Jagex that Wikia is willing to work with us to remove those ads and that formal policy by Wikia is that they are not welcome advertisers. That perhaps we need an advertisement patrol to report bad ads as a community, perhaps, and to make communication of bad ads easier, but it is something that can be worked out. This is something that has been mentioned both here and on Wikia Central as an issue, with positive feedback from Wikia in terms of trying to clean up those ads. --Robert Horning 14:56, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

Sounds like a good event. If it weren't the middle of school I would go. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 15:55, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

How about we have crats represent us and loads of other people go to make us look nice and big. And we could put it on a sitenotice?--Joe Click Here for Awesomeness 18:10, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

The entire community cannot be represented by a set few. Anyone claiming to represent the views and ideals of every wikian there is would be quite a stern liar. People are coming to chat about the wiki as members of the community. Would come and try to be of some help, but can't due to same reasons as Soldier. Now that's a throwing weapon!Doucher4000******r4000I'll eat you! 21:24, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

If it weren't at 4 A.M. on a school day I would totally go. Andrew talk 20:47, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

"Why has the Funorb Wiki been officially recognized, but the RuneScape wiki not?" Would be my question. 15:28, September 14, 2009 (UTC)

Just a suggestion, call it the "RuneScape equilivent of the FunOrb wiki" rather then by its actual name. Since it isn't recognised, it is possible to be reported for website advertising for just mentioning it. Unicorn horn dust.png Evil Yanks talk 06:30, September 15, 2009 (UTC)

I might attend, I might not. ~ Fire Surge icon.png Sentry Telos Talk  06:13, September 15, 2009 (UTC)

Unfortunately, Mod Hohbein was busy putting some finishing touches to some other Jagex project. Mod Crow stood in for him, but could only talk about creative gameplay. So, no fansite questions could be asked Frown. C.ChiamTalk 10:06, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

Mod Hohbein's surgery will be rescheduled to a later date. C.ChiamTalk 10:08, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

And in regards to Forum:Reveal leaked info?, I took the chance to ask:
