(For lack of a better place to put this): Some people have been editing different jadinko pages to add their seed drop rates. My simple idea is to tweak the charm log submission code to create a jadinko seed log. I believe a drop log would be preferable over a drop table for the same reason we do it for charms – to get percentages rather than “Rare” for everything... I tried to test it myself, but I fail, so I’m leaving it up to y’all. Each type of seed would have to have a different template, of course, as different jadinkos drop different types (bush, flower, herb, etc).

Proposal: Create some sort of seed log, similar to the charm log, for jadinkos. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 00:23, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Support? - As idea-creator. (: sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 00:23, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Strong support - I love this idea. My concern comes with the logistics. I don't think a Seed namespace is needed. I'd like to propose that we rename the Charm namespace to something like Data and have everything there (charms, seeds, other future appropriate data). --LiquidTalk 00:25, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Why not just have it be a subpage of the Jadinko? ʞooɔ 00:30, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Well, for the same reasons that the charm data was moved from a subpage of the monster in question. I'm assuming that there will be vandalism, so why not just use our existing infrastructure for charm logs to carry the jadinko seed drops also? Having it in its namespace is more organized and more consistent than subpages, and because the namespace is already protected save rollback/custodian/bot/sysop, we don't need to worry about vandalism. --LiquidTalk 01:24, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Great idea. Hunter cape (t).png Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask.png 00:53, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Support both Urbancowgurl's and Liquid's suggestions. I didn't even know about the Charm: space until now, so obviously I won't miss it. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 02:31, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

'Sup Port - Both proposals... ----クールネシトーク 03:03, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Support - But "Data" is a horrible name for a namespace. 222 talk 05:31, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Maybe... "Drops:"? JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 16:55, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - I wanted to propose this but i was busy! nooooooooooooo!
Oh and Strong support making drop logs for all monsters. I am making a new thread with all suggestions like templates, how it would work etc, as i am working on that, and i already have a plan how it would work. I just didn't test it yet. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 07:13, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Well.. Jadinkos are hunted creatures, not really monsters. (: sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 18:59, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Both suggestions, as per above Aldra 19:35, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose any renaming of Charm to Data - Charms are charms. They can be obtained from many monsters. However, Jadinko drops are very limited to a specific area. Hence, any kind of research on Jadinko drop rates should be contained on the discussion pages and results should be posted to the Herblore Habitat/respective Jadinko pages. Who says charms and jadinkos will be the only thing on the data namespace? Eventually, more and more of these kind of this will happen, and we need a namespace to reflect this.Quest point cape.pngTalk Newbie856 edit count Nomad guideMusic icon.png 14:39, December 12, 2010 (UTC)
Like "Drops"? For more about this, see Forum:Drop logs for monster and item pages. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 18:56, December 12, 2010 (UTC)
Let me make my stance more clear. I do support the research on drop rates, but the Charm space should be left as is. Farming cape (t).png Lil cloud 9 Talk 13:15, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
It is just a simple name change. Nothing changes in the Charm namespace other than the namespace name. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 13:31, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
That's what I'm opposing... Farming cape (t).png Lil cloud 9 Talk 16:01, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
WHY? If we change the name, we can easily make drop logs for Jadinkos too. Why do you want to stop this big improvement, just because of a name? Really, not changing the name stops the wiki from being Granular, so if you don't provide a good reason to ignore that policy, we still follow that policy so change the name if consensus is to add the drop logs. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 14:04, December 15, 2010 (UTC)
*Cough* the original proposal is to create something similar to a charm log for jadinkos, just so things are neater and you don't have 7 different kinds of seed-findings posted on the pages. Whether it be the way Liquid described or not, that was the proposal... sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 18:18, December 15, 2010 (UTC)
Joey, I don't need to explain any more than I have already done so here. If you wish to go in circular arguments more, then you can talk to me on my talk page. Farming cape (t).png Lil cloud 9 Talk 12:16, December 19, 2010 (UTC)

Epic Strong Support - The seed drops are so similar to charm drops that it's be stupid not to support this. Real Mad 10:47, December 12, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - <.< Okay, so... *Doesn't know how to do this*. I have no idea how one would code such a thing, and it doesn't seem like we have a consensus on just how to do that... So in the mean time, would it be beneficial for me to make a WikiGuild-type-thing to record the seeds, or should I just start a project off my userpage, or what? Support the data namespace in particular. I am shocked to see this discussion having lain idle for over half a month, as I believe it is critical to the development of the wiki. However, I think that to attract more attention to the discussion, I would change its object (or create a new discussion) solely to propose the data namespace change; not only would this probably attract a larger discussion, but it would (in my opinion) be able to serve a much broader and larger purpose. As to "not having a consensus", not having unanimous support doesn't mean you don't have a consensus, and if I read this correctly, there is only one opposition as of now. Frankly, I am surprised why this discussion has not been acted upon and feel the need to bring it to peoples attention again. ~Artwich 15:20, January 18, 2011 (UTC)

Closed - Drop logs will be added, though they'll be coded by someone with more knowledge of the issue, like Gareth. --LiquidTalk 03:05, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
