Hai people. I would like to suggest that we allow the creation of non-serious pages on the wiki. These pages would have to be in the RuneScape: namespace (unless someone feels like asking Wikia for another one) and would require a tag similar to the one over at Wikipedia. There's no real drive for doing this, I just think that having a few jokey policies like Wikipedia's WP:PBAGDSWCBY would lighten the mood every now and again. We could also store things like the bizarre threads we get on April Fools Day, or links to diffs like the ones in iiiiiiiiiii's sandbox. I have written up a policy about joke pages User:Real Not Pure/Policy.

Please note that anyone citing RS:NOT#WIKIPEDIA will be eaten. Seriously, there's no reason we can't do something that they do, or we'd be deleting RS:AGF in light of that. Real Nub 19:07, June 2, 2011 (UTC)

They are allowed. That is what user space is for. Anything you want.--Degenret01 22:44, June 2, 2011 (UTC)

no man... if you get it in any any namespace besides user: it means its better and that you won the wiki. Imagine how much better RuneScape:Project MyPet would be instead of the dumb old User:Psycho Robot/Project MyPet that it is currently. This can easily be translated to joke pages. they're funnier if prefaced with RuneScape:! kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 03:39, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

I agree with what Degen said, put it in your userspace. HaloTalk 19:41, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Do what Wowpedia does by making a category for silly userpages. Smuff [cite your sources or die] 21:20, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
RS:NOT#WOWPEDIA. Will I be eaten now? JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 21:44, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

We might could make the category, I don't really see any problem with that. HaloTalk 23:31, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Sounds like fun. Some of Wikipedia's joke pages in their project space are very funny, and it would be cool to duplicate that here. ajr 02:12, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Question - Like what? Matt (t) 02:13, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Conditional support - It would depend on the policy, but generally I really like the idea. Matt (t) 03:09, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Support - These "humour" pages can be a good read as shown on Wikipedia, and can help educate our users of our policies in more interesting ways than simply laying out the rulebook to them. 222 talk 03:41, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Strong Oppose - The Konami code we have is silly enough as is...and now you're suggestiong humor pages? Get off the wiki, it's for information...NOT for humor. If you really feel the need to do that sorta crap, do it on your userpages/talkpages. And I'm sorry if I come off as miffed, but this is utterly ridiculous...7kyt1iT.gif --WINE OF GOOD HEALTH (Actually Stinko) 04:28, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Oppose - I don't agree that they would lighten the mood of the wiki, nor do I think the mood needs to be lightened. The wiki is for information to the general users of RuneScape, we have user and talk pages to satisfy our humor. xScoobsx Talk Contribs 04:40, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Strong Oppose - having these in non user/user-talk namespaces. Support making a category for silly user/user-talk pages. HaloTalk 15:38, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Comment - ...what? User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 15:17, June 5, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, as far as I get it, you want to create articles to be filled with random, non-encyclopaedic nonsense. Oppose. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 14:11, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
Not articles. Projectspace =/= mainspace. bad_fetustalk 15:53, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

Conditional support - as long as they somewhat educate users about our policies etc. Smithing (talk | contribs) 15:22, June 5, 2011 (UTC)

Oppose We are not a humour site 16px‎AtlandyBeer.png 16:22, June 5, 2011 (UTC)

Oppose - If there's no real drive to have these pages, then let's not have them. Strong oppose if they're going to be filled with 4chan crap.  Tien  14:24, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

Oppose - There's no practical reason for them to be in namespace. Userspace is an ideal place since you can just keep adding on different branches in userspace. Zaros symbol.pngChaos Monk Talk SignCoins 250.png 00:34, June 7, 2011 (UTC)

Oppose - These pages have no place on this wiki except in your user space. It's also worth mentioning that we are not Wikipedia, so just because they do something doesn't mean we should too. Andrew talk 03:55, June 7, 2011 (UTC)

Also, damn, just saw the part about being eaten. That explains it FrownFrown Andrew talk 11:33, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

Comment - I was going to let Joey's NOT#WIKIPEDIA (WOWPEDIA w/e) pass as I was fairly sure it was in jest. However, unfortunately, Soldier has decided to mention it again in an inappropriate situation. I shall reiterate: RS:NOT#WIKIPEDIA's sole and clearly specified purpose is to prevent editors from making an argument about something on the basis of a policy/guideline Wikipedia has. Not to be used as a method of rejecting ideas that originated from Wikipedia. 222 talk 05:59, June 7, 2011 (UTC)

Support - I don't see why the wiki shouldn't have humour pages. An opposing comment would be that "wikis are for information", but honestly if it doesn't go overboard then I'm sure users would like to have it brighten their days. Besides, Runescape is full of humour so why shouldn't its wiki be?--Law rune.png Mac5130 Fire rune.png 04:21, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

Extreme oppose, with such severity as the world has seldom seen - the Internet is, and always has been, Serious Business. The RuneScape Wiki is hosted on the Internet. Therefore the RuneScape wiki is Serious Business and has no time for this frivolity QED. Ardougne cloak 4.png Raging Bull Talk 09:44, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

Oppose - per Stinko, my thoughts exactly. Full slayer helmet.png Axela40 Slayer-icon.png 11:40, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

Neutral - This explains my viewpoint, if I don't have a viewpoint seeing as I voted neutral. I can't decide between the pros and cons of this, but seriously think that we do need some light-heartedness sometimes. This place can get very serious, dull and overlooking the point of this wiki and life altogether. Maybe we're having an 'active user number deficiency situation' (AUNDS) because no one wants to edit a wiki where nothing positively interesting happens, and there's no real personality... Chicken7 >talk 12:36, June 12, 2011 (UTC)

Okay - I will clarify what I meant. If this passes, joke policies will be allowed. So basically, we could have a page on "How to be a noob" where various forms of trolling are shown, but in a light-hearted way. Nobody has to read them, nobody would be banned for going against them. Also, taking ideas from Wikipedia, there could be a section saying "In all seriousness, don't do this" to stop people misinterpreting them as actual suggestions. Also, to anyoneopposing on the grounds that "this isn't a humour site", this is a wiki about a game. While I know there is a thick, brightly coloured line between fiction and humour, the argument that this site is for serious business is pointless considering we tell people that the current year is 169, magic was invented by a small boy called Jack and a giant carnivorous beetle lives in a cave under the desert. Real Nub iPhone Edit

Closed - There is no consensus to allow humor/joke pages to be put in any non user/user-talk spaces. HaloTalk 19:55, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
