Hi. Below is the schedule for the upcoming Eastern Autumn Wikifest '10, mainly targeted at Asians and Australians. It is noticeably different from the Western Autumn Wikifest, due to the supposedly smaller number of people attending, although this allows for some new events. It will also be held in World 141 (a free-to-play Clan Wars world) instead of World 29 because of the clan-warring event.

Autumn Wikifest 2010

The Autumn 2010 Wikifest will begin in September 4 2010 8:00:00 UTC.
Please be sure to read the whole time table before attending the event. We need to make sure that everyone knows what's going on. Thank you for your cooperation.

Event Time (UTC) Details
Meet N' Greet/Costume Contest 8:00-8:20

Everyone will arrive at the Wilderness Ditch at Edgeville. Participants will line up on the ditch in single file in order for the Costume Judges to review them. Winners will be announced from there.

Hide and Seek 8:20-8:40 The Fest Moderators will not entertain any request to hide. The people asked to hide beforehand (only one of which will be hiding at any given time) will hide anywhere in the game, so long as the area is safe and accessible for all levels. You are admonished not to use teleports as this gives an unfair advantage if you are seeking. We will cycle through a few hiders, starting with one after the last has been found. Please make sure you have a cabbage ring or are able to teleport to Lumbridge during this event.

Hiders: Pharos, Evil1888

Cabbage patch raid 8:40-8:55 A favorite event of ours, we will storm the Falador cabbage patch and attain all the cabbage we can. If you happen to be a distance away from the patch during this event, find means of teleporting if you are able to (Explorer's ring 3), or walk.
Grand Exchange bombing 8:55-9:05 The Grand Exchange will be attacked by wikians and showered with cabbages.
Fist of Guthix 9:05-9:40 We will walk to the Fist of Guthix area, before entering the arena, and having a couple of games.
Hunt 'n Seek 9:40-9:55 We will then walk to the Clan Wars area. The group will enter the FFA (Safe) Portal, and a designated hider will hide first. The rest of the group will search for the hider once he is done hiding. The hider will then be found and killed.

Hiders: Pharos, Evil1888

Clan-warring 9:55-10:45 Clan-warring with other clans in the area.
Group photo-taking 10:45-11:00 This is a new event. Basically, we will take a group photo together to mark the end of the Wikifest, before bidding our farewells. We will head to the Bounty Hunter crater/Wilderness Volcano from the Clan Wars area and I (Calebchiam) will give the signal for players to start gathering around me, and the effect will be that we will have a large mass of players in the picture, and this will conclude the Wikifest.

Contestants

Leave your signature and your in-game name below.

As seen above, Chicken7 and I will be planning the Wikifest, and Degenret, Chess, Thebrains222 and Rwojy have agreed to moderate the Fest.

Regarding the events, there are 2 new events, the "Hunt and Seek" proposed by another user in the other Fest discussion thread, and the group phototaking session which I felt would be feasible, since we will most likely be having a smaller group. For the Costume contest, judges have not been chosen yet, but Contestants can start signing up now. If there are any issues with the above, do seek clarification by leaving a message on this thread or my talkpage. Keep in mind that this is a draft, so modifications can still be made. Cheers. Discussion

I am also looking for a couple of volunteers to be hiders for the Hide n' Seek and Hunt n' Seek events. C.ChiamTalk 07:54, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

Hiders in Hunt n' Seek are recommended to have a high combat level. - [Pharos] 08:05, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

We are allowed to turn up late, right? 222 talk 08:40, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

Yup. C.ChiamTalk 08:42, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

Can we move the Costume Contest sign-up thingy to below the discussion as it is going to get LONG. - [Pharos] 09:01, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

Question - What cc will be used? bad_fetustalk 09:19, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

Look through the top of the page it says "Autumnfest10". Hunter cape (t).png Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask.png 09:21, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
I think Halo owned the Summerfest10, so whos willing to control it this time cus they wont get to use their own account. - [Pharos] 09:25, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
Can't we just use a new one? 222 talk 10:30, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
This CC is a new one? Chicken7 >talk 12:13, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
Wait. Wut? - [Pharos] 12:17, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
By "it" I was reffering to the new wikifest cc, Autumnfest10. Which actually brings a new question. If the western fest uses Autumnfest10, can we use it too, or will we strictly abide by the "no account sharing" rule?- [Pharos] 13:10, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
I actually created the Autumnfest10 account (about a week ago) without realising that I was supposed to include an "East" in the name. Personally, I wouldn't mind if the account was shared seeing as it's a one-time event anyway, but I can see how some users might object to it. C.ChiamTalk 13:18, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
Personally I have no problems with that and think it's fully justified and I'm very doubtful anyone will object to it or even notice that its being shared...until I brought this up... There's no chance that you are attending both fests is there? - [Pharos] 13:37, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
No chance, not with it at the typical 4 a.m. C.ChiamTalk 13:43, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
>.< I see three options, 1. Share the account, 2. Make another account for the western fest or 3. Use your ACTUAL account instead of making throwaways every fest. I like 3 the best - [Pharos] 13:53, August 17, 2010 (UTC)
I support 3. Just rename the CC to Eastern Wikifest. There's no need to clog up Jagex's servers. 222 talk 06:47, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
OR 4 which is to get someone who's going to both to create an account like Q4fest2010 and have them control muting and stuffs. I think Evil is going to both and he's also pretty ninja, has Ts3 and can keep up with what's happening. (I'm not sure he wants to though......just a suggestion) - [Pharos]

Question - Where, how and who is the photo thing being done by? Or are you guys still planning it out? - [Pharos] 12:48, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

Mm, since it's a screenshot, I'll be "organising" it by getting everyone to gather around me for the group photo. It will be after the Clan Wars, and since that area will be crowded, I suppose we'd walk to the BH Crater/Edgeville for the photo. I didn't actually consider this yet, thanks for bringing it up. C.ChiamTalk 12:54, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

Suggestion - Leave the end of the fest open ended, so people may play a minigame or dungeoneer until they feel like leaving. It is also an opportunity for members and free to split off. I suggest moving the photo up earlier, maybe straight after the costume contest. On that note, I also find the costume contest signup lists ineffective. With the number of players you usually get in it, it is infeasible to go through ticking everyone off the list, and telling people who didn't sign to GTFO. Just some suggestions. I like the general idea and timetable though! Good work. Smile Chicken7 >talk 14:10, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps. I've never attend one myself so I don't have that good an idea of how it usually goes. I'll leave it to you to change that part if you think it's necessary (I do think the points you raised are valid though). C.ChiamTalk 14:14, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

The CC - I am able to make it to both fests so Pharos 5 said I should host the CC account. Can I? (I'm thinking "Q4 Fest 2010" (Q4 = quarter 4 (for our buddies on the other hemishere))) Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 10:27, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not altogether sure. I'd rather not have to trouble the middleman whenever I need to mute/unmute the CC (which will be happening very often). C.ChiamTalk 11:43, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
Dont worry, Gaz is hosting the western fest CC, so meh - [Pharos] 13:02, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Caleb, are you still going ahead with the photo, I suggested it to the Western fest too, so we could merge the two together to form one uber East and West photo.   Swizz Talk   Events!   11:59, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, still having that event. C.ChiamTalk 12:09, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
Can you tell me where and who you're going to do it, please? Just so both the pictures will look good together.   Swizz Talk   Events!   12:34, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
It will be done by me and at the Bounty Hunter crater (see above for details). It's a group photo mind you, not a number of individual images for each player. C.ChiamTalk 12:37, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
That's what I was hoping for, will you be using the orb?   Swizz Talk   Events!   12:39, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
Maybe, I'll need to test it first. My original plan was just fullscreen though. C.ChiamTalk 12:43, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
You could get a small trial group at the start to test out your orbing skills? 222 talk 08:55, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
Tried it out, can't manoeuvre it well enough to get a good shot, so I'll be using fullscreen. Anyone else proficient with it can volunteer to take the group photo instead though. C.ChiamTalk 05:59, August 21, 2010 (UTC)

Shoutout - We still need 2-3 more hiders. C.ChiamTalk 06:05, August 21, 2010 (UTC)

We only have 6 people going. 222 talk 06:06, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
Your point being? The Wikifest hasn't been announced on the Sitenotice yet. C.ChiamTalk 06:07, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
We only have 6 people going so far, and not everyone wants to hide. We have plenty of time. 222 talk 06:10, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
Lulz, i imagine it would be a great wikifest with 6 people. Anyway, dont put up the sitenotice too late. Last time it was too late to sign up for anything at all. - [Pharos] 06:36, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
Actually, we only have 2 weeks. I say we put it up on SiteNotice now, before its too late. 222 talk 06:39, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
Trust me on this, we will have more people than you think. Not as many as the western, sure, but people will still see the countdown to the eastern one. Also fyi the attendance lists are generally useless cuz most people who come are not really wikians, just people who have an account and sometimes maybe edit. The people that are likely to come are those who wouldn't sign such a list. LIQPBucket detail.pngrwojy 07:26, August 21, 2010 (UTC)

Burn the GE

At the conclusion all members hould go to w28 to set the GE on fire in WIki colors. Flames of Wiki This is a 2 part minievent, like cabbagebombing the GE. Instead, each person should obtain a number of Blue firelighters and White firelighters and we set the GE ablaze in our base colors. While it is burning, launch a mass Origami assault, again in blue and plain white, upon the GE. For this part wikians should stand at about where the archway is and face the GE so all the balloons float that way. This will work best with at least 8 people each facing the GE from a seperate point under the arches, in a circle. To participate prepare now by obtaining the firelighters, plain logs, candles, balls of wool, papyrus, and blue dye. Enlightened journey must be completed to make the origami.--Degenret01 14:22, August 7, 2010 (UTC)

Blue and white fire-lighters don't really change the colour of fires much. 222 talk 01:44, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
Yet they are the wiki base colors.--Degenret01 01:53, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

Tell you what, you get ahold of the firelighters first. They aren't that easy to buy last time I checked. I'll buy blue and white firelighters off you for 10x their g.e price for the event if you can get them. - [Pharos] 06:54, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

I will tell you what, put your offer in now, and update it every day, and by the fest you will have them. ORRR, you can just say you do not wish to participate. No one is twisting your arm bub.--Degenret01 11:33, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah ive put my orders in. BTW where did i indicate that i felt pressured by you? - [Pharos] 12:27, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

I'll do the origami but not the firelighters. 50 each enough? 222 talk 11:57, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

13 of each is good, or 13 of one and 14 the other, you don't want to bank to reload I would think.--Degenret01 12:17, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

Suggestion - I recommend you close this discussion now that the Fest Page has been put up. Once this is the case, only minor changes can be made without confusing people. Any further comments would be redirected to the fest talk page, should this forum be closed. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 16:29, August 22, 2010 (UTC)
