I'd like to propose a few guidelines be created to help standardize our drop tables on monster pages:

Create a new organization system that makes more sense. Instead of segregating drops into groups by arbitrary categories, segregate them into groups based on which slot they drop from. Several good examples:

As far as reading drops goes, I never saw a reason to create these arbitrary groupings. Why is it necessary to put items into separate categories? I believe organizing by possible drop slot would create a clearer message to how drops works. We have all these pages with clue scrolls or triskelion fragments listed, but no page that makes note of the fact that they drop with the main drop.

Some larger drop tables may seem like a counter argument, but I can only name so few that would be large enough to be a problem. In such a case, I would propose a threshold for unique drops, at which point those drops would become a separate table, leaving everything else the same. The only two examples I can really think of are Chaos Elemental and Nex.

Multi item templates

This one shouldn't be controversial, but I'd like to get us using two new templates that group together 3 items each, as the items in each group always exist together:

The templates have funky names to keep them in line with the other DropsLine names being used.

These templates can be ignored, of course, if necessary. Like is the case with Vorago, who has additional, unique mechanics to explain for them.

Points to discuss

Rare drop table

Should the rare drop table itself be listed with other drops; i.e., something along the lines of:

Why? Because it makes sense. The chance of accessing the table isn't the same across every monster. You may see it several times in a few kills at Nex, but only once every hundred or so at Dark beasts.

Anagogic orts

Anagogic orts are an oddball. They're only listed in a small handful of drops tables, mostly without any indication of how they drop, even though we are well aware. I personally am for adding them. In fact, I'd like to pair them up directly with the rare drop table (just with refs; not a single template).

Support all - Regarding anagogic orts, I believe Jagex are planning to remove them entirely as a drop. HaidroH rune.pngEagle feather 3.pngCandle (blood red).png 1XqyDNM.png Crystal triskelion fragment 3.pngHazelmere's signet ring.png 04:04, November 28, 2015 (UTC)

Question - How do drops go, in the "good" example pages given, from being "Main" to "Tertiary" without a Secondary in between? --Saftzie (talk) 10:40, November 28, 2015 (UTC)

Secondary is probably equivalent to main, while primary is bones etc. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 16:29, November 28, 2015 (UTC)

Support all - And Haidro is right, Mod Kelpie would really like to remove the anagogic orts, but it's on the ninja backlog together with all other clan citadel stuff they want to do, atleast that's what he said during the Ninja Q&A at RuneFest 2015 which I attended, but it can also be rewatched on YouTube as a reference.
