Hey Guys,

I've recently set up a new site called Crison Guides it's basically a website that is out there to give guides to Runescape players and teach them on different topics. We hope in the future to expand into other guides too. So I'm creating this topics to ask if you would like to create an affiliate program with Crison Guides.com and Runescape.wikia.com. If an Admin can get back to me I am more than willing to discuss a relationship between your site and mine. My email is [email protected]

Thanks,

Dan

Strongly oppose - Since when are we asking money for our guides, aren't we supposed to be free? Dragon chainbody.png Emowarriorking Guthan's platebody.png 18:30, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Hi Dan. Affiliations are generally something done with other quite large/prominent fansites focused on providing FREE information. As that seems quite opposite of your goals, I don't believe any sort of affiliation will be possible at this point. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them here or on my talk page. Strong Oppose - Its another one of those paid for guide sites that uses recycled content easily found for free on other fansites on the internet, including here. And as there is no main "owner" of the RSwiki noone here would gain any benefit from any affiliate scheme set up. If we ran our own independant Wiki it might be a deal worth considering but as we're not I oppose any affiliation. There is nothing to stop Crison Guides from going direct to Wikia though. --Gold ore.png Mercifull UK serv.svg (Talk) 19:05, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Strong Oppose - We are a website that provides free information that anyone can contribute too. Your website, on the other hand, is trying to sell a product that we are handing out for free. Affiliating with your website will provide no benefit for our users, and only serves as advertising for you. Sorry Lol. Comment - I'd like to point out that this thread was initially made on 16 May 2010. And besides, if it weren't for the fact that the site hasn't had any updates post the initial creation of this page and it's for a profit, then I'd be more likely to see such an even occurring. Ugh. Azliq's bot stuff has been kicking up the dust of old threads OMG!. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 21:34, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry. I just felt this thread was not noticed by the community as the OP had intended, and felt it should have been at least given the chance. *_*   az talk   10:17, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Closed - Given the exceptional circumstances surrounding this thread, including the fact that it was created seven months ago, the fact that it has drawn unanimous strong opposition from the community, the fact that it violates several principles of wikis, and the fact that such affiliation requests typically get nowhere, I am just going to close it now. Cheers, --LiquidTalk 22:40, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
