Createplate is an extension available on request that works much like the template preloading for new pages, except instead of directly typing in the information for the page you are provided with fields for each field or section of a new page.

This would provide a better way of creating pages.

While, it would require some changes to the preload templates currently used and renaming them this should be worth it.

For additional information on this extension please visit Help:CreatePage.

Support - As requester. - TehKittyCatTalk Wikian-Book 02:09, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Support - Sweet. :D Haven't read all the details on the Help page (it's 4am here) but the basic idea looks pretty awesome. Christine 07:58, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Support I have gotta make this quick, I am using on screen keybord. --2+2 10:06, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Support - This would be a very good addition to the wiki for new contributers. Rollback crown.svg Spencer (Talk | Edits | Contribs) 13:40, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Question - I went to the help page and tried to make a page on the example wiki they provided, but creating a new page didn't seem any different. It seems like a good idea, but perhaps we should get a demonstration that works first? Cap and goggles.pngTEbuddy 19:13, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Agreed - I'd like to see a working version of this before supporting. Just blindly saying "this looks good" is kind of stupid to me. Bring on the example! -Byte_Master bytesig2.png bytesig3.png 22:23, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Agreed - I would also like to see how this works, but from what I read on the page, it seemed pretty helpful. ~MuzTalk 22:26, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Question - I know the title has Create in it, but I'm wondering...Is this to solely create pages, or can you use this to also edit the page. If users who don't know how to use the wiki format use this to create a page, but make a mistake, can they use this again to fix it or would they have to go into the edit screen?

They have to use the edit screen to fix mistakes, this is for creating only. - TehKittyCatTalk Wikian-Book 23:25, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Comment - This extension is currently enabled on the [[w:c:funorb|FunOrb Wiki]], though we currently only have it set up for the creation of achievement subpages. Quartic ~ insanity is a virtue | Talk 01:44, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Support - The only thing that I would love to see happen here that would be slightly better would be to somehow incorporate this feature into updating the GEMW pages. Still, this can be useful for starting new pages for items, NPCs, and quests that have a pretty standardized format... and this can help out users not as familiar with wiki markup text and templates. --Robert Horning 14:12, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Support - This looks like a nice feature. I think this will help new users get up to speed faster. I would like a demonstration if possible but from what I read this will be a good move for us. Air rune.png Tollerach hates SoF Fire rune.png 20:37, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Support Looks very useful, especially for creating GEMW pages. If it could be used to update them too, that'd be awesome. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 18:18, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

What's next? - It looks like this has overwhelming support, when can we see that demo? Also, I clicked clicked on Help:CreatePage and it appears that the wiki they point is to for an example of this isn't using createplates any longer. So where can we see this in action before we implement this? Air rune.png Tollerach hates SoF Fire rune.png 21:50, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Comment - Sorry for the delay, I've been a bit inactive the last few weeks, but [[w:c:funorb:MediaWiki:Createplate-Achievement|MediaWiki:Createplate-Achievement]] is an example of createplates and see [ Special:Createpage at Funorb Wiki] for it in action.(Thanks to Quartic for mentioning a place where we can find it) - TehKittyCatTalk Wikian-Book 23:19, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Support - Neato. Looks like it'd be quite useful. Andrew talk 05:09, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
