Considering how much we discuss bringing in more new people, I would like to point out a chance we have to do so on an ongoing basis. And that is by being helpful and friendly in our clan chat to new folks that pop in out of nowhere. Now, I see we have friendly covered pretty well, I've never seen rudeness to a new person. And that is great, it is good for us. The helpful bit, while we often are, can at times be very hit or miss depending on who is in the clan chat. Now I fully understand that at times it can be very very annoying and irritating to have some one ask numerous "noobie" questions and it can be tiresome to keep telling the same people who refuse to look it up themselves. This is not about those people. I am talking about the new peeps that have little to no idea what the wiki is or is about. Now I don't want to stand here and say any one in the clan chat is automatically responsible to look up anything a new person asks at demand. No. We are ingame trying to accomplish our own tasks, I get that. All I am saying is, if no one is able to help the new person, let's always try to direct them in a positive rather than a negative manner. Show that we are a great community even if we can't help at this moment. I direct people to our clan chat when I am unable to help them and I think it is some thing that could really benefit us and them. And isn't that why we joined the wiki in the first place? To add to what is already here to help other people with the game?--Degenret01 00:10, November 13, 2009 (UTC)

Comment - I always try to help out people in need when they need it. Even if I don't know, I usually look it up and learn a new thing myself. If I see someone directing in a negative manner, I'll try to tell them to positively redirect people next time. ~MuzTalk 00:09, November 13, 2009 (UTC)

Comment - Sounds good. We try to help everyone by adding information here, why not do it in-game? I'd love to see our CC to be considered a CC where anyone can go at anytime for help and advice. Now that's a throwing weapon!Doucher4000******r4000I'll eat you! 04:16, November 13, 2009 (UTC)

Comment - I totally agree with all, especially D4K. What irritates me though is people who join, say "hi" and leave 10 seconds later. If you want help, give it some time! Lol Cheers, Chicken7 >talk 06:14, November 13, 2009 (UTC)

Comment - Being nice to the newcomers sounds great. We were all noobs at one point in time (trying RSC vividly reminded me of that). I think is always good to be polite and friendly, and Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers. I don't really think anyone would be opposed to this, but we may forget and need reminding. Strong support It's disheartening in a way to see that someone feels the need to point this out, because we should be doing it anyway.  :-| It's something that we should all keep in mind any time we're in the cc. Leevclarke talk Max_logo_mini.png bulldog_puppy.png 15:37, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

So true... :( Hello71 02:07, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Comment - The main reason I'm always in the clan chat when I'm playing is not just to simply chat, but to help others. Knowing that you've made things easier for someone is always a good feeling.  Tien  16:50, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

Strong Support - per all, I think our CC should be the kind that all people feel comfortable and welcome in.--Cheers, Off-hand ascension crossbow.pngYodaAscension crossbow.png 00:08, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

Super Strong Support - Per all above, and I bet nobody could feel bad for helping somebody to gather some info about the game Wink. Quest point cape detail.png Brux Talk 20:14, December 14, 2009 (UTC)

Comment this should be a community site notice/banner message... --Fruit.Smoothie 23:21, December 14, 2009 (UTC)

Support - People could fetch in a few chunks of information from the Wiki and "copy-and-paste" it onto the clan chat for the information. It should be a good idea. Fishing.png NnK Oliver (600613) talk 18:26, January 1, 2010 (UTC)

Super support - This sounds like a good idea and well... if only RuneScape had a copy/paste option XD Makxtrl Talk 08:03, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

Support Although usually from what I've seen so far in chat there are those who will not only help you but actually go out of their way to do so, I had someone who, without knowing me, ran me a few prayer potions just to help for example. I sometimes go to help people, after a few seconds pass if no one answers I'll look it up if I'm unsure, however it's very rare for me to be in chat and being the only one answering a question as in personal experience the clan has been willing to help people in need. Still it can't hurt to have more helpful people in chat. Korasi's sword.png Archmage Elune  TalkHS Void knight deflector.png fetus is my son and I love him. 00:18, January 3, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Yea, when people ask for help most of us look it up on the wikia. Hitpoints 54 Supawilko 11:25, January 3, 2010 (UTC)

Epic Support - When I first went into the CC I felt as if I was being ignored and all I wanted to do was just edit, and feel welcomed. This put me off the clan chat and editting for awhile, but there were certain users that helped me feel comfortable, and I think them for that, epically.eCopM0F.png Swiz Talk Review Me 12:18, January 3, 2010 (UTC)

Closed - This seems to be a shoutout to the users of the Wiki, and it has served its purpose. Closing now. C.ChiamTalk 08:39, March 16, 2010 (UTC)
