I find when I create charm logs, I end up going to an already-exising charm log, copying the code, and and reseting the values back to 0. When creating mainspace articles there are buttons which you can use to make an outline for to page depending on what the page is about. It occured to me a couple days ago when I was in the shower (What? You don't think about the wiki when your in the shower too?) there should be a outline for charm logs. This will make it a lot easier for users to make charm logs, even those who already have their own method. Matt (t) 08:03, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Discussion

Support - As nominator. Matt (t) 08:03, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Just to clarify, you want "Charm log" and its associated code added to MediaWiki:Newarticletext? If so, I support. It seems like this could go through without a thread. ʞooɔ 08:34, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Just saying, I never use the new article wizard thingy. Yeh, I think about the Wiki in the shower sometimes, the steamed up glass is quite good for scribbling on. There's nothing wrong with adding it, I think some users will benefit and it will help, I support. 222 talk 09:01, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Why the hell do we need a yg thread over this? Just go ahead and do it. bad_fetustalk 09:12, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

He can't, it's a MediaWiki page. Anyway, I'll leave this open until tomorrow. I don't expect any opposition, but you never know. ʞooɔ 10:15, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Makes life easier and I can see no downside.... Btw, way too much information. - [Pharos] 12:49, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Comment/Neutral - Cook, unless the thread deals with some urgent issue, it should stay open for a minimum of one week. This will allow more users to see it and comment on it. Now, as for the actual proposal, I can't say I particularly support or oppose it. I see that it does have its benefits, but it seems kind of pointless to me. New charm logs are rarely created, so doing this seems to be more of a bother than a benefit. The bottom line is that I think this is a rather trivial issue that doesn't really matter which way it goes. --LiquidTalk 22:46, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Can't see any harm. I'm a regular user and I approve this message.  TLUL Talk - Contribs 00:07, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Support - And for future technical reference, this type of starter page is called a preload, not an outline. kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 00:11, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Notice of intent - Unless anyone opposes this, I'm going to be bold and make a preload for this tomorrow. ajr 00:12, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

I strongly oppose closing this tomorrow. (However, a sample of it in your userspace would be fine). --LiquidTalk 00:32, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Per above. Suppa chuppa Talk 07:56, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Support - I personally don't use them, but I know some people do. (Which is why I spent an afternoon making them all slightly better/clarifying some missing fields and such). Liquid, as this doesn't need consensus to be created, there is no requirement for this to be open for one week. HaloTalk 20:47, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

Request for closure - Come on guys, we do not need a discussion over this. bad_fetustalk 10:14, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

I know right. Hurry up and close this. 222 talk 10:17, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Not a massive change but it would be useful. Hunter cape (t).png Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask.png 11:27, September 4, 2010 (UTC)
