The Request for comment template as most of you know can be added to pages and will make a link show up here. It's very useful for talk pages especially before RS:PM was made but it's isn't helpful on the Yew Grove. The Yew Grove index gets a lot more attention than RuneScape:Requests for comment does and having threads on both index's can just clog up the Requests for comment. If you want something on the Yew Grove to get more attention you can simply make a small comment somewhere or if needed just say Bump.

Comment - Ok it doesn't add it to the category any more but there are still more effective ways to bump threads, which are more useful. Hunter cape (t).png Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask.png 08:44, November 28, 2010 (UTC)

Support - As nom. Hunter cape (t).png Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask.png 10:33, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Per nom. Its especially annoying when people use it within a day or two of the last comment. >_> - [Pharos] 10:44, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Change to neutral - Oh, i don't really mind that much then - [Pharos] 14:45, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Isn't it already? - Look at the categories: Nothing adds. Here the template just says "we need more comments" without the category.Comment See no categories. I think this can be closed. If you agree, please withdraw. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 10:46, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

I don't because it is takes up space and is ugly as well, it would be a lot better if people would just say Bump or comment on things. Hunter cape (t).png Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask.png 10:47, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
Oh and i am Neutral on if it will be forbidden. If you want comment, I don't care how you ask for it. banning the template doesn't matter actually as you will still be able to bump as easily as you can now. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 12:33, December 7, 2010 (UTC)
After reading all of the comments below, and cook especially has a good argument. This is too much work actually, so i changed to Oppose. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 12:45, December 7, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - Per Joey. It doesn't categorize the thread. bad_fetustalk 14:05, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Sentra never said it did. Real Mad 18:49, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
I never said he said it, but there is nothing wrong with it when it doesn't categorize. bad_fetustalk 18:53, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - Remember, this is an informal way. And if you don't like using it we're not forcing you to... --中亚人/中亞人 (Chinasian/Jeffwang16) 跟我谈话 14:40, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Support - By being on the YG we are already requesting comment on the item. By putting that on the page is just overkill and takes up room. svco4bY.png3Gf5N2F.png 16:01, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Per Zamorak. Also, a physical bump is much more descriptive than a generic template. It's better to say something like "Request for comment - We didn't discuss this specific part of the proposal" than it is to say "Rfc". --LiquidTalk 16:16, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

You can do that with the template too. rfc - blah blah ~~~~ . Banning the template will just cause the people to do REQUEST FOR COMMENT - ~~~~ instead, nothing else. bad_fetustalk 16:47, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Per Zamorak. YG threads are RFCs. There really isn't a point to RFCing an RFC. Real Mad 18:49, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Support and comment - Stickies are Yew Grove RfCs. --中亚人/中亞人 (Chinasian/Jeffwang16) 跟我谈话 04:46, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Stickied threads are the YG's "important" threads so to speak. The ones that make big changes and whatnot. svco4bY.png3Gf5N2F.png 04:52, November 27, 2010 (UTC)
Right, but same. RfCs are for things like that. --中亚人/中亞人 (Chinasian/Jeffwang16) 跟我谈话 04:57, November 27, 2010 (UTC)
RfCs are to request new input in a discussion, and if it's on the YG it's doing just that. The purpose of the sticky to me is that they bring out the things that are very important to discuss. RfCs are to attract people to discussions that are in less noticeable places, like a discussion on a talk page on how something should work, so the Sticky = RfC <> The same . svco4bY.png3Gf5N2F.png 05:00, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Hmm...no one has commented on this for a while Rfc. HaloTalk 05:40, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Most people just use it to get their edit countd up.   Swizz Talk   Events!   20:49, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Support - There are plenty of more effective ways to bump threads. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 21:22, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - As it does not add that category to the Forum: namescape (Stelercus tried to do that to the template first and I finished it) makes most of the proposal's reason a bit nonsensical. And since it does nothing, adding it only bumps the thread (which is what Bump does). Banning it sounds a bit extreme. What will you do if someone adds it? Ban them? I hope not. Other than being a slight annoyance (if you find it annoying), it's not all that hurtful. If you want to replace the template with "Bump", "Request for comment", or nowiki it, go ahead, I highly doubt anyone will complain. But being forced to not use it is a bit mean. Full Slayer Helmet! If we changed the fact that it does not add a category to the Forumspace and didn't ban the RFC template from the YG, we would have an incredible mess to clean up. As there is no reason to use the template on YG threads in the first place, we may as well remove all uses of it on the YG from this point forward. Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 01:08, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - It's not that big a problem, ignore it. Per Evil. 222 talk 08:43, November 28, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - People just need to stop overusing it. The RfC template should be used when you yourself add something to a discussion that you want others to see. --Aburnett(Talk) 22:04, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - What are we going to do if someone uses it? Remove it? That would also bring it to the top of the queue, which makes the whole thing useless. We can encourage people not to use it, but there's no reason to outright ban it. ʞooɔ 10:36, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - Just change the template so that YGs don't appear on RuneScape:Requests for comment. I'm sure the template could easily be modified for this. Quest point cape.pngTalk Newbie856 edit count Nomad guideMusic icon.png 02:51, December 3, 2010 (UTC)
